Weber dcoe 2.2 manifold on 2.0 head.

    Hi Guys.
Hope you are enjoying Christmas time.

Do any of you know if it is possible to modify 2.2/2.4 side draft Weber manifolds to fit a 2.0 head. ??

I have read that you can fit 2.0 on 2.2 by modifying them but is the other way around possible?
The reason is that I have got some really short ones for a 2.2 head and I have not managed to find them as short for a 2.0 head. The ones I have is 60mm on the top side and 80mm on the lower side and they seem to be perfect for the gt.

    Regards from Denmark
    Jacob

If you lay the 2.0 gasket on top of the ports on the 2.2 manifold you will find out if it is possible to drill new locating pin holes. Another thing to worry about is whether there is enough flange sticking out for the mounting bolts to grab.

The first picture below shows a 1.9 in-line port manifold. The locating pin hole is just above the ports. In the second pic, the manifold at the top is a 1.9/2.0 single side draft with "feet" welded on so that it could be used on raised port 2.4. The manifold at the bottom is a 1.9 manifold with a 2.4 gasket laid on top of it. The screws are going into the pin holes. Notice that the pin holes are about 13mm lower and between the ports on the 2.4 configuration. The mounting bolts on a 1.9/2.0 head will also touch your 2.2 intakes 13mm higher, so you want to check if you have enough metal there. I have never seen a 2.2/2.4 side draft intake manifold, so I don't know if they have support feet below the ports. If they do, you may have to cut them off so that they don't sit on top of the block.

I have now drilled a new hole in the manifolds.
And as you can see on your last pic. The ports are wider on the 2.2 manifold.
I am a bit in doubt if I should port the head outwards to fit or weld some aluminium in the manifold.
Another thing is that I just found that Risse-motorsport sells the short dbilas manifolds for 2.0 so instead of too mush work I will probably just buy them as they are only 1cm longer than the ones I already have.

If you get the shorty manifolds, then you'll probably need to get the dBilas thermostat housing for bolt clearance.

There are many pictures of it here and me trying to carve a bypass channel in it:

You can see some of it under the chromed thermos housing in these pics:

Yes, that is where dBilas puts it. It's a good location.
