For some sellers it's important that the GT comes in good hand and not to a dealer. I am not a dealer.
I make a contract for used cars, pay to sellers account and then you need a cargo company. In this case the seller help me to find a company for shipping.
    Now it's time for waiting.
Gorden, you can be sure that I be so glad as I show you the Green Jewel from Lance as first.
I know that you love this sleepies all day long and I know the Opel GT`s are now in good hands again.

I wish you all the best

Ps.I be so sorry that I can`t do nothing in the deal by Thomas and the orange GT from Ron.
Thomas was also sorry, but sh.t happend ,it should not be.He found only few days later a same GT like you buy now.

    Good Night

Are you willing to share with us what you paid? This GT looks like a #2 or high #3, and is worth noting what it sold for. I like to pay attention to GT values.

    Rest of the story

The car lmost came to Iowa this last weekend. Couple of weeks ago we agreed on a price and I would pickup the car in two weeks(last weekend). This was based on the car as described through phone conversation and pictures. I had some concerns based on pictures and answers to questions I had.(mint condition is subjective I guess) The car was located about 250 mi. form where I live. Not wanting to pull trailer 500 mi and not buy the car I arranged to have my brother fly me to an airport west of Chicago on Sunday two weekends ago. Had a courtesy car at the airport and drove 25 minutes to where the car was located. Checked the car over, found some issues mechanically and on the body that I was not aware of and could have been told about. Based on those issues I made him(John-middleman) another offer. Beings it was lunch time we agreed he could think about it and we would grab a sandwich and stop back. Hadn't even got our sandwiches and got a call from John that the owner decided to keep the car. When I had made the initial offer a week prior I asked him if he needed to confirm with the owner and he said no, he trusted his judgment. After the phone call I was dumbfound, I thought I would either get a counter offer or he would want to stick to original offer. Flew back home and following day called John and tried to get a number to talk to the owner to no avail. He told me the owner wanted the car back and was going to trailer it back to Indiana. Obviously not. That's the rest of the story.

Congratulations Gorden, you should be happy with the car. Looks like it will have some nice stable mates. There was nothing major, that I could see, wrong with the car.

I would think the big question on an overseas transaction like this is how and when do Money and Vehicle change hands. Is an escrow account involved?

Sorry to hear about that Wayne. Yup, 'MINT!!!" is very subjective... and so is "All need work" Below shows an area on one I bought as a set of three that 'needs work'

Some people think they have solid gold too... like the $16K yellow kind, lol.

If the price is more than 3k my clear recommendation is to see the car in person to avoid bad surprises. I saw cars which were advertised as mint condition and the cars were srab in reality. Oversea wire payment worked fine in the past, but always with a pray and hope feeling. Cash in person is the best if you can realise this.... m2cw. Rolf
