    1973 Opel GT $11,500 Wisconsin

The time has come to sell my GT. Purchased in 2008 and stripped down and redone in 2011 in GM Sunburst Orange Metallic. Some of the many items upgraded over my time:

    Getrag 5 speed
    Stainless steel bumpers
    15" wheels and tires
    Weber carburetor
    High output alternator
    High output OGTS starter
    Headliner
    Windshield and rear window rubber
    Resonator
    Outside mirrors

Plus a bunch of other smaller items. It's a fun car to drive, and a true show-stopper (many trophies over the years), but a recent move has left us with less garage space, so it's time to thin the herd.

Pics are available for review in my album.

"What goes on in the middle east"? Oh, lots of war and saber rattling.....
Here in the midwest - lots of rain and cool weather!

    The engine is a 1.9 with a 1970 head.
Thanks for the wishes. I'm sure that someday I will be an Opel owner again.

The head swap was done before I owned it, so I don't know if there was a piston swap done, but I would have to guess that it wasn't.

I'm not sure what you mean with your other question.

Then the GT have still the 75 Hp with dished pistons.

Second Question means: Own as next Opel?

I would assume that is correct. I never put it on a dyno to test it.

Next one? Possibly a Manta, or maybe a Sportwagon. It will depend on what's out there at the time.

Man, if everybody keeps selling their Opel's Eric Schmidt and myself will be the only ones at the Mother Road Event.

On the bright side, maybe I can beat Eric for Best Opel.

I'm sure that it's possible. I just wouldn't have the foggiest idea how to go about it.
If you have a guy that would be interested, maybe he can check it out from his end and let me know how it would work.

p.s. That looks like a picture of my GT at Carlisle. Our little 1900 mile round-trip cruise!

I've been called a lot of names in my time, but never any of those!

Maybe I'll have to settle for Mel-low.

Mel's GT should be a heck of a bargain for someone across the Pond. I would think they could clear $6000 on it the minute it comes off the boat. That is even after transport cost.

What am I doing wrong here? Trying to look at the pictures from that link, and it takes me to the Opel Homepage. Cannot for the life of me figure out how to see these.
Someone out there available to break it down for me Barney style and pull me out of this inept mess.

    Thank you in advance.

Disregard the help. Exited “enhanced view” and all went to working properly. Learned my lesson trying to use a phone to view I guess

    Sold!

The GT is sold. Still have some leftover parts - front suspension, chrome front bumperettes, stainless rear bumperettes, miscellaneous stuff.

    Mel,
Congratulations on the sale. I figured a nice car like that would not last long.
Is it staying in the area?
    Cheers,
    Ron in Indy

Its sitting now still over one year in a Virginia Barn and rotted away from underneath.
Or the PO get new hacksaw blades in walmarts sale out
It is souch so nice yellow Wagon what needs a real Opeler to bring it back on the road and win a car show trophy.

Go for it and keep the yellow sport wagon alive
