1972 Opel GT Fireglow Orange
CAR IS SOLD
For sale is my 1972 Opel GT (VIN 772827616) in fireglow orange. It has the 1.9L engine with the manual transmission. The car has currently 84,730 miles.
Car is located in Ann Arbor, MI (I meant to add that to the title, but forgot, and can't seem to be able to edit it anymore... my bad)
I unfortunately need space in the garage to work on something else.
I am technically the 3rd owner, but the 2nd owner bought the car VERY early in its life (a few months from new from what I remember) and had it until I bought it from him in November 2014.
The exterior of the car is in good condition for its age. I’ve provided close-up photos of imperfections.
The interior is very clean overall. Seats, dash, headliner and carpet are all in very good condition. The car has three points driver and passenger seat belts. The clock is inoperable. The car will be sold with brand new oil temp and voltmeter gauges from OGTS which can be installed in place of the original clock by the new owner.
The car has brand new TR Motorsport C1 wheels (30mm offset I believe – no spacers on the car), with brand new Dunlop Direzza DZ102 tires (205/50R-15) – Less than 100 miles on the wheels and tires.
The following work was done two months ago to get the car ready for sale:
- Full big brake package from OGTS (Rotors, calipers, pads, braided steel brake hoses)
- New Weber 32/36 carburetor with electric choke
- New water pump
- Torque tube assembly service (new torque tube “donut”, upper and lower stops, side bushings, bearing, pinion seal, etc… all from OGTS)
- Engine and differential oil change
- Dwell and timing check
- Reconditioned passenger side headlight mechanism from Opels Unlimited.
- Rewired the headlights and fog lights – bypassed the microswitch and added two toggle switches underneath the dash (see pictures) – low/high beam switch still working as intended. Both headlights mechanisms work perfectly now.
I have also an additional pair of stock trailing arms (with poly bushings) that will be sold with the car.
Car runs and drives great.
Price is 6,000 OBO.

That's a very nice car, to bad you have to get rid of it. If I lived closer, I would be interested in buying it from you. That is a very reasonable offer.
You shouldn't have any trouble selling it. Good luck.
Thank you Dan!

Attached are pictures of the belly pan, the underfloor (where you can see some of the rust proofing pealing off and showing the original orange paint) and one of the original carpet (the previous pictures had the floor mats in them)
The only two holes in the belly pan are the drainage holes!

Very nice, honest presentation of a driver car loaded with potential. Agree that somebody is going to get a heck of a deal here. Reminds me much of my own car, an original california car with 40 years worth of dings and dents and the odd speck of small rust here or there. Good luck with the sale!
Thank you sir!

Any car dealers here?
Is there anyone in this group that sells Opels on a commission basis?
I have tried to sell mine without success on Craigslist and even here a few years ago. I would prefer to have someone sell it for me and take a commission, rather than deal with haters directly.
Yeah selling a car is not fun. I already had a few emails for weirdos in less than 2 days

The car is sold
Thank you all!
