When you upgrade to FI do you use the same cam ?
I am planning to upgrade to upgrade...but wondering about the camshaft ?? I always thought the cam used was different than one used for a carbureted engine> ..... at least when I look in the Summit catalog they appear to use different cams... yet I only see standard cams offered for Opel engines...no FI cams offered... Thoughts ??

Early engines have three bearrings and later four bearings. Also difference in massiv and hydro lifter curve.
The difference in hp is very small between a FI cam and a carbureted stock cam. For example, a 20S with a K cam has 100hp DIN vs the 110hp DIN R cammed 20E where the FI system makes more difference than the cam. Besides, the K profile is also used in the fuel injected 30E six cylinder engine as well as in the 20S and 28H/30H carbureted engines.
Joel it appears your looking to build a big valve head for this and other posts. I recommend upgrade your cam along with the valves. Remember you are building a motor , all the systems need to work together. There is a ton of info on this site so have fun . The cams we got in the US are all about the same as far as performance. Your problem is going to be determining what EFI your going to do and will it be better for you .
