Looks like were starting to get some traction, thanks to all who have responded with interest. Maybe we can get others to chime in and
Opelspenner to begin production. It appears he doesn't get on this forum very often, so I'm hopeful when he does, he will see there is
    enough interest to go forward.

From what I have read, it appears everyone that purchased earlier versions of the transmission pans have thoroughly enjoyed them.
Those of us that don't have one, would greatly benefit by getting one. So lets keep the interest going.

Not getting on here much is an understatement! I’m going to do another run for sure, will try to get the ball rolling in the next few weeks! As I was under the car again I still don’t see the benefit to “front jacking” vs rear jacking when lifting it to get under the trans to drain the fluid... so I’m still on the fence as to if/where to move the drain plug. Ballpark price should be about the same but material cost can certainly vary from run to run

Awesome, glad to hear that. I like the looks of the last one you produced. Whether you leave the plug or move it to the corner, I'm good either way.

Some changes for this revision I'm considering:
    1. Moving Drain plug - I'm back and forth on this one. Wouldn't it make sense to place is far FORWARD? This way to drain you could easily just jack up the rear of the car via under the diff and with jack stands putting tipping the overall pitch of the car towards the front. Unless you have a lift or a pit I don't know an easier way to get under there
    2. Creating an enclosed pocket for the detent spring/cap
    3. Different color? will probably add some branding too, maybe a nice opel logo (they won't sue me for that will they?)
    4. I could massage the inner floor to pitch it towards the drain plug but i'm worried this would add considerable machining time and therefor $$$

I'll probably do a batch of 10 again for Gen3, and I do still have one Gen2 (what everyone on here got) left that I kept for posterity

I'm not officially taking orders yet, just gaging feedback from those who have one already. I'll probably end up selling them on eBay too
Count me in for one. Will send $ and address upon confirmation of the run. Thanks! Marc

I had posted earlier that I am interested. Still interested -- let me know price, etc.

I'm not dead! I'm really a spy that can only post when i'm back home out of cover....

About ready to send these off when I had a little inspiration for another change but I need someone's help.
For that spring that always falls off, done anyone have a spare they can measure the OD and ID? I think I've come up with a useful feature

    Thanks in advance!

Awesome, I was just thinking about you Jeff, glad you are still alive, not sure about that spy stuff Really looking forward to your new version, especially if there is an improvement with that loose spring. I just pulled an engine and transmission this past summer and preparing to rebuild the engine. I haven't done anything with the transmission, but if no one chimes in, I will remove the pan and check for you. I'm sure someone has that data or a spare spring laying around.

Do you think you will have them available before the end of the year?

I for sure can get these out in a few weeks IF I can get that spring info!

That is good news Jeff, I'm just dragging my feet in hopes that there is someone out there that has a transmission with the guts out of it. I'm sure there are plenty of people that have a spring laying around and can easily obtain that information for you. Like I said before, I will pull the pan from a transmission I have and get that data for you. I will give a little more time and see if someone steps up and has that data for you.

Thanks again for making this happen, I'm looking forward to replacing the original pan with one of these improved pans.

Don't want to ask him during our heat spell as he's in there sweating his butt off all week. but were really close. Thank you for putting this together it looks FANTASTIC

My GT has a 4 speed but I have 2 ATs sitting nearby. However, I have no idea what you are talking about with this spring? Is it a monster job to flip the trans and pull the pan? And then, what/where am I looking ... at the top because the spring fell out and I inverted the trans or somewhere in a small pocket somewhere? A little more info and I could take a look!

I appreciate the offer, but I’m pretty sure the spring in question is specific to the manual.
I want to make sure I size it correctly, so I need the ID and OD of the spring. I feel so silly for not having measured it last time I had the pan off!

Okay Opelspenner, I'm just hanging a bit longer before I pull the pan on this 4-speed transmission and get your measurements.

There has got to be someone, like RallyBob, Kyler, Gordo, Keith, Charles and many others that have a spring lying around and can give you those measurements. I know it sounds like I'm lazy, but I wasn't ready to start the transmission rebuild, like drain the fluid and have another mess. I'm slowly rebuilding a 1.9 that I pulled from a parts car and have a mess of parts already.

So I will give it another day or so and if we still have crickets, I will get the measurements for you.

Okay Opelspenner as I promised I would get that spring measurement for you. I opened the transmission pan and to my surprise, there was no spring. This is my first time opening an Opel GT transmission pan. Maybe I'm missing something. This came from a 1970 Opel GT parts car I got this past August. I have attached a couple of pictures. Anyone please feel free to voice an opinion. I thought the spring would be on the passenger side (inside the transmission obviously). There was no spring that I could locate.

hmm your photos aren't showing, i dont think the links are correct. On the PASSENGER side about midway is a hole with the spring. Check out OpelPower's video.
