For the record, my car is wired properly with the proper GM color coding and a new aftermarket fuse box. I had to do a few mods to counteract some of the mods the PO did, like shaving the door handles off the car(Fluckin' stupid idea) and he installed headlight "tunnels" that you couldn't fit ANY type of headlight into until someone in China started making 2.5" diameter mini motorcycle headlights about 5 years ago. Yeah, there's lots of wacky, yet functional, LED interior lighting, but they use almost no power and virtually all of it is attached to one terminal strip tapped into the accessory lighting circuit. I was quite pleased to learn, during this past year in Hell, that all the electrical/mechanical work I did was rock solid. It was the darn engine innards that I farmed out to someone else that bit me in the arse.

Keep in mind that I work on machines all day that make my car's electrical system look about as complicated as a can opener, so doing all that electrical stuff was nothing for me.

Point taken reg. your knowledge on the electrical stuff. My previous post was nothing more than a little friendly grilling ..- and I had no doubt that you would take it the right way

Who made that car? It has '57 Ford Fairlane wheel covers on it, so is it a Ford concept car?

I have no idea what that is, I found it on a new Facebook group I joined called "Ugly, Odd, & Unique Automotive Masterpieces".

After this discussion we've been having, I figured I needed to join a group that has more of "my people" in it!

    Yuk! Yuk!

    Real? Well Yes and No...

The 1958 X2000 was originally just a 3/8 scale model, but an English enthusiast, Andy Saunders, saw it in the "Dream Cars" book (J-R Picard 1981), pursued the impossible dream - and built one. The X2000 has been doing the rounds of the Motor Shows.
To me, it is a masterpiece of mid-century automobilia.

Guys, you are gonna stop this now (please), I can't take it any more ! The level of body-mods-insanity out there in the (dark) world is beyond belief, and I can now see clearly that even the most outrageous modification-wackadoodle-maniacs on this forum are quite sane, and should be appointed Doctors of design, and teach tech & design at MIT.

I still resent most of it, but I give up now, and take any remotely negative things I said back...- Gordo you win this round

    Cheers from a broken spirit

After seeing those pictures, I am trying to restore inner piece by taking some counter-measures.

Mine isn't outrageous. I own 3 of them. The one pictured is mine, originally purchased in 1978, M274 A-3. Also know on Data plate as Truck, utility, 1/2 ton, 4x4. Made by Willys Overland Corp. I have an A-5, 2 wheel steering, An original M274 A-4, 4 wheel steering (1962 model), almost parade ready according to MVPA Standards. Just need stencils on it. Purchased from the Estate of the guy who I used to buy parts from. He had one that had the 106 MM recoilless Rifle. They were used primarily in Viet Nam. Mine is a little outrageous, but I go anywhere on the farm here, including creeks. Jarrell

Isn't that vehicle what the army used to call a "mule"?
You can tell by looking that the steering wheel and shaft came straight out of a Willys jeep.
    Looks like a fun ride!
