    Cool Opel Stuff to Buy

Call me an idiot with more money than sense if you will, but I just couldn't resist buying all this stuff. Actually, I don't have much money, but I don't have any debts or wife or kids, my car is basically done, and I get so much entertainment value from my Opel activities that this stuff I just bought is well worth the price. It might be crapp, but who cares, it looks cool and makes me happy.

I actually needed a new bedspread:

I'm sure they use that same logo for every car company and just change the name and emblem, probably the colors, too.

$300 worth of stuff. It's probably junk and the silk screening will flake off, but you never know. You don't wash bedspreads and jackets all that much, so maybe those two will stand the test of time. The long sleeve t-shirt, pants, and hoodie probably won't handle much use and washing, but, also, you never know. I have a thing for yellow Opels.....and skulls......and it's all mostly going to be lightly used, mostly at car shows. It's nice to have a blanket sort of thing to spread out on the grass to hang out on at car shows where you park on the green stuff, like Carlisle. If I get no other use for the stuff than to use/wear it at Carlisle, then it will all be worth it. Chroming my FI manifold, fuel rail, and thermo housing(That I probably will never use) will cost me $700, so some useful clothing at 1/3 that price seems like a good deal, in comparison.

Cool and it is you. As far as getting things you will use, Why not? It's what you want, so have a good time. I ordered a "Union" suit for myself for Christmas. I'll put it under the tree for me to look at, (I have Wife and a son), and tell them "Santa" left it because "I've been a good little boy", Yeah, Right. Jarrell

As I paused from my screaming and cussing I politely turned around with a quick smile on my face and said ( because it's the one thing that makes me happy) pause pause ( out side of you honey)

I went to the fabric store, then straight to the vinyl aisle, and grabbed the standard black faux leather that everyone uses. I'm standing in line waiting to pay when I glanced down that aisle again and I saw zebra and snake and ostrich and all sorts of other faux vinyls. The basic rule I followed on my GTX was: Modify everything. Every bolt, every screw, every device, leave nothing unmolested. I grabbed the black faux gator skin. A week later I bought brown/black gator skin.

Decades ago, when I did my first home upholstery jobs on my GT's, I noticed that the faux leather scuffed and got dirty really easy. Upholstering curves and bends is hard to do without getting wrinkles and folds that are very noticable when using smooth faux leather. I needed something with texture to hide those wrinkles and folds and scuffs. The gator stuff was just what the doctor ordered.
