    new owner of 2 kadetts

My son and I purchased 2 1968 Opel Kadetts from Kat a while ago. Since that time we have repacked the front bearings, replaced the brakes, and changed the tires on the brown Kadett.
All we have to do is have a vehicle inspection done and it is ready to insure. Motor on this one needed no work, as Kat had it on the road previously, and it purrs like a kitten.

Sounds great. I have her '75 Ascona SportWagon, although it is further from being roadworthy than the Kadetts seem to be. How is the clutch on the California Kadett? I think I heard that it was slipping pretty badly. There is a new disk on eBay tonight at

And what hapening with the Manta? Is it back on the road yet?

Drop me a line someday or stop by if you happen to be in Calgary.

We're in the process of removing the clutch-still have to get a new one. The motor is in better shape on the Yellow Kadett than the Brown Kadett. Hopefully will have the Yellow one on the road late this fall.

The Manta needs her motor replaced- I have one with only 20,000 original miles on that my son and I are going to replace this winter. Once we have the motor in, we are going to rebuild the other one for a spare. Will have 2-1.9L high performance motors. The original motor has a lot of chrome parts on it that we will be reusing.
