    new project

I just bought my first opel gt and am planning a restore. I am in college and limited on available finances. However, i am still looking forward to this project. Eventually the car will go to my soon to be fiance. It is an engagement present slash wedding gift. I figure thats a heck of a gift for any girl. I have always liked these cars after seeing one run around my old neighborhood for several years. I am afraid that i will be here asking many questions for quite some time. Being this is my first restore, and my first opel. I am missing the front clip and was planning on cutting one off of a 280Z and molding it to the front end. Any other cost effective ideas on how to put a front clip on my gt?

Give Jim up at USA Opels a call. Last time I was at his shop, he had a bunch of GTs to be parted out, all of them west coast cars with minimal rust. I don't know what the shipping arrangements would be from his place in Southern CA, but I'm sure he could supply what you needed. He can be reached at 909-693-1432.

Hey camero guy I wish you the best of luck, if I were to have given my wife a rebuilt car for her wedding present she would have called a cab and driven away. As it is now, my wife wants either me or the Opel to go.

All the best with your two projects, the wife and the car!
