Hello all, my name is Sean and I am the proud owner of a 1973 Opel GT, The car has virtually no rust and is a car i have dreaming about for years. I already had the pleasure of meeting some of you already in dealing with my brake issues. I look forward to absorbing and appling as much of the knowledge that I can from this site to my car. I will have pictures of it soon. I am looking forward to my car looking beautiful and running well. It is great to be hear.

    Thumbs upMe too

My name is Shawn and I just got a beautiful orange 73 GT. I too have been wanting one for a long time. I live in Vegas and hope to take her to the Opel meet in L.A. in July. I have been quietly reading posts for months now and finally I got my GT. Now I can start applying what I am learning and make some posts too. Hopefully we can meet in July and enjoy your GT Sean.

Congrats on getting the car of your dreams and welcome to our group. Though I temporarly live in North Carolina I call home Tucson AZ. There are a few of us who do live in the hot desert and enjoy our rust free cars.

Shawn, just a little dig in your ribs, but the OMC festivities is in August, not July. Check out the right side bar on the main page of the site, there is an OMC countdown box.

Make certain you have a three row radiator, 160 degree theromstat and a good water pump. Speaking from experience here

    August?

Oops! What can I say Namba I don't want to wait that long. Maybe cause I want to start driving her now but can't. Need to rewire the headlights and have a problem with starting with key. I spent tonite removing the headlight buckets trying to get to the wiring and checking for the damaged bolts described by Kwilford in his thread. Wiring crispy, bolts and mechanism grade A. Also have problem with steering column, hoping I can get some help from Nobody or maybe sombody else.

    Vegas?

You bet I got her in Vegas. There was a rust bucket I was driving past daily, and after I started thinking about getting it, I got a lead on this baby. She is a bright orange 73 GT, and when I stopped for gas when putting home, I had a guy want to shake my hand and congradulate me on how nice she looks. She has problems but I will try and work them out. Hey got any extra parts?
    Take Care,
    Shawn a new GT owner
