Hello. Hope things are well over there. No more flash hail storms. I was wondering if there is a way to see the most recent discussions like it used to be. Thanks & Take care.

Things are OK, and I am actually back to work, a bit more than part time, subject to the 2nd wave...
What aren't you seeing regarding discussions? Hmm, I guess you can't tell what you can't see... There are certainly fewer posts since the conversion. Kinda' sad, but nothing I can do about it.

Eh neighbour. I hope things are warming up for you. Just navigating your new system here. I posted a question in the fuel section but didn't see it up anywhere. Usually I see it up right away. Just wondering if I'm doing it properly or maybe there's a longer delay now maybe. Anyway, you take care and thanks for your contributions here.

I am still figuring out to navigate around this new Forum, but it is getting better. I saw your post, and just happened to reply to it at Gas line by resonator.

Case #: 301322 has been resolved. I apologized to everyone and was hoping to here no more from it. Please pay no attention to it as I would like to stay a member of OpelGT.com. Sorry for the trouble.

    Hey Keith,
Well, I'm glad at least somebody liked something about that thread. Honestly, I didn't set out to start a flame war. And frankly, I was trying, very hard to be the grown up, and just walk away. On other forums, I've seen six day wars over this sort of childish crap. Anyway, lets see if I get the parts I need in the mail, and I'll write that article.

Thanks for the input Keith. I read about your dolly also...you are definitely a creative problem solver! I have an issue with my right rear jackpoint/trailing arm attaching point. At this point, it seems to be the only part of the floor that isn't solid, Now, that's a goodthing/bad thing This is really the area that I thought having the car upside down in while I correct the problem(keeping everthing aligned) would be super helpful(outside of every other advantage bodywork wise). I'm going to be stripping the engine down, and pulling that from the top...this time. It WILL go back in from underneath. Your rotisserie design may have another build here soon. I t will be good practise for my welding, as I have been away from doing that for 5 years since I left the boiler room.

Hello there, Keith. I have read through your rotisserie thread several times(beautiful work, by the way!) and have a question for you regarding the body mount strength. Do you feel that the mounting points for the rotisserie would still safely support the vehicle with the suspension still attached? Somewhere in the research that I did on this AMAZING site today about engine removal even joked about turning the car over on it's roof and then removing it from the top...may have been your post?! Would the mounting points or stands for that matter handle that kind of weight? I respect your "opinion", and would not quote you for lawyer purposes by any means. I just figured that you have had your car on the rig and wonder what your thoughts might be on this. I'm finaly getting to the point where I can really start the deconstruction and wondering how much simpler that would be if I could manipulate the vehicle with the likes of a rotisserie right from the beginning stages.
    Thanks, Ken.

Thanks for the reply. Sadly my mig is a 70a Mastercarft (I now realized it's perfect for body work way too weak for 1/8 steel). Luckily my budy lent me his 220v 200amp Lincoln arc welder!! So the project will move forward . I've bought my engine stands and steel. I'm now planing out my assembly. Thanks

    Hello I'm a fellow Canadian ( I'm in Ontario) who's restoring his 71 gt.
I've spent a great deal of time and money preparing for this project i.e bought a mig welder, gas, 60 gallon air compressor, sand blaster ran a new electrical box in my garage to be able to run everything, etc..... after all this I realized that 85 % of my grinding and welding on my car's body would be done up side down...So I've decided to build my rotisserie to make my life for the next two years easier. Your thread on this subject was perfect!!!!!!!But I just need to know did you weld the rotisserie together using your mig welder???? I was going to get an arc welding shop down the street from me to weld everything, but if my mig can pull it off, it would make things easier! I'm worried my mig would not get enough penetration in the 1/8 steel. Thank you for your time...:)

    Greeting from Vancouver, B.C.

I am cobbling together the pieces from several GTs. First a 1971 came with many spare parts. That's good since I can almost always find something that is decent. However the body was too far gone so I bought a bare rolling chassic in southern WA. It was a piece of cake to get it across the border.

I have spent quite a bit of time on the net including downloading a 03-29-2004 posting of yours. Any yes: I will install a DGEV, electronic ignition, and starter relay.

A few weeks ago, somebody in Ontario sold on Ebay a damaged dash pad (mat?). I thought that the seller said that it came from Opel GT Source. I would willingly pay the estimated $ 130 for an undamaged one. I sent a photo of that one to OGT and the response suggested that it did not come from them. If you respond to garyhawthorn@shaw.ca, I will send a photo. Any advise?

I have lots of some spares that I will never use.

    Thanks

    Gary Hawthorn
