St. Louis Opels and Easter Sunday!!

    Hey-

On Easter Sunday, the big car show in Forest Park (Muny upper/lower lots) is taking place as usual.

I was thinking about getting whomever from the area that can be there to...well,...be there.

With or without cars, doesn't matter.

My thinking is this...meet and see the show, then maybe (if there is interest), go have some lunch somewhere, someplace (suggestions?).

I know this is Easter Sunday and all (kids, family, eggs, freakishly large bipedal rabbits, it all makes sense somehow...) and some will be previously engaged with said bipedal rabbit and the kids, but some will not. So let's get together.

    Thoughts? Ideas? Off topic rants?

"No, your friend in high school did not 'peg' his speedometer."

Tony i'm almost positive i'll be there as long as my silly job don't make me work. And if i do maybe I might be able to come a little late or leave early. But I will ask saturday if they are gonna schedule me or not.

I would love to go there in the Opel I paid this months insurance just so I can hopefully drive or limp my car there.

Lunch/Dinner sounds like a great plan but i'm not familar with forest park so I have no clue on where we could go munch at.

opel al i dont think we have introduced each other. My name is Lewis and I live in the fenton area. I drive a Gt. And like i posted above I might be able to make it to the show. If my car gets fixed I will be driving it there. So if I am able to go, maybe we can meet person to person.

oh and i think tony said it costs like 20 bucks or something

    Tony,
That sounds like a fun venue for a get together. I wish I could be there, but I will be on the road that weekend - somewhere between Denver and St. Louis. I'll let you know if my plans change.
I was just thinking we should plan a Spring gathering. How about the Arnold park???

    Hey-

Al, no cost to see the show, but there is a charge to enter your car. It's getting time to arrange for your headlight job.

Lewis, finally I know how you spell you name! Never thought to ask...to see the whole show can take about 4 hours.

Bruce, Denver and St. Louis? That's a long walk, ain't it? A spring thing would be good. Arnold/my house/your street, whichever we want. I need to get Jason's phone number from you.

    Hey guys-

It's a couple days til the show, this Sunday.

So far, only Lewis and I seem to have plans to go.
Even if we don't meet up, it's well worth the trip, unless it's raining. Bring the family!

I will probably be there no matter what.

Give me a call if anyone wants to make definite plans or if you suddenly deiced to make the show.

I generally park up near The Jewel Box (close to Hampton/44 park entrance) and hang around the Alfa guys on the upper lot.

    Al-

There is no fee to see the show, but there is a fee for showing your car. I believe it's around $20. Could be more, could be less.
The show is put on by the Horseless Carriage Club of St. Louis, so they will have more info.
I'll see what I can find.

    Lewis-

I did some checking and found the flyer for the show. It is $25 to show a car and you must be there before 10am. There is no entering a car after 10.

Last year they had over 500 cars.

I'll just come by your house about 9am.
We have a choice of using 44 (21 to 270 to 44 or 141 to 30 to 270 to 44), or just go up 21 to Gravois (shorter route but more stop and go traffic).

How did your car do going back home the other day? Find any rain?

    Lewis-

Are you still interested in putting your car in the show? If so, let me know. I might scare up the entry money for my car.

Happy Easter everyone. I hope you all get a chance to visit with friends and family and take some time out to remember what this holiday is all about. I'm looking forward to my smoked 8 lb lamb leg.

Had to cancel! :banghead: stupid weather. Snow and rain. Well it better not be like this for springfield! Oh well by then i'll probably have my gt waterproof.

Sorry Tony I really wanted to go. Maybe we can plan like a get together type deal this spring when its a nice weekend, and have all the local opelers come and anyone else who wants to come.
