    Hi Ron,

While I see that you want people to email you for a list of parts, why not type up the list and post it for all to see? This is your second post on this, and everyone in the first thread you started had the same feeling as I am suggesting. This is not criticism, this is me trying to give you some advice on how to successfully sell parts on this forum. You may be surprised by the response, both from an interest and monetary persepctives, if you would do a few simple things:

    1) List of parts available

    2) Post photos of items (especially helpful if you are unsure of what the item may be)

    3) Let us know where you are located (members local may have greater interest or you could gain some help from someone local in part identification)

Hope that helps. Otherwise is may be challenging for you to sell the stash of things you have.

If you have a scanner it should be no problem to post it all. I have found it best to resize photos to around half a meg. Scan the list as a jpeg of e-mail size, it all should fit on one post.

Yes, it can be done in 1 post. It's not too complicated, but this site can have its challenges at times. Personally, for larger posts I type something up in another program and then copy and paste it here. If you have an iPhone or something similar, pictures are very easy.

Looking forward to seeing what's to come!

    Take care

    Hello:

Thank you for your interest in the Opel parts that I have for sale. I am selling the parts for a friend of mine. So bear with me because I do not know anything about Opel parts. He gave me a list of part numbers & descriptions of where they are used. I took pictures of each item with a number attached to each one. The numbers are the same as the descriptions. In most cases, there is a factory stamped number on the box as well as a pencil written number also. You will have to determine if the numbers are correct. My friend retired from a Buick/ Opel dealership. He worked in the parts dept. As far as I can tell, all of the items are NOS. New old stock. The only item that is labeled good used is one of the AT vac modulator Part# Factory part # 731604 (AC # 5638324) The other modulator is NOS.

Please note you are buying these items as is. I am not responsible for incorrect labeling of the boxes. There can not be any returns. I will try with the help of my friend to answer any questions you have before you make me an offer. Here is the list with part numbers & descriptions. The pictures will be sent along with the part numbers.

    Nos Opel parts for sale.

I will be selling the 19 different items by Auction bid. The bidding is now open. I will close the bidding on 12:59 PM. EST on Tuesday November 13 2019. If you are interested in bidding, Email the number of the item & your bid amount to me via Email. I want everyone to have an equal chance to win. I will not take any bids for all the items in one bid. Only one at a time bids. On Monday evening, I will post each item number with the highest bid at that time. This way everyone will know what the current bid is at that time. After the auction is closed, I will Email the high bidder & get their zip code so that I can charge the correct shipping amount. I want the winner to pay me within 2 days after close of auction. I will only accept Pay Pal as payment. No cash or checks.Again, you are buying items as is. As far as I can tell, they are all NOS except item #13. One is NOS the other is good used condition. Also note that if an item number has more than one listed you will be getting the quantity amount listed. No returns or exchanges. If you have any questions, please contact me before bidding. I want everyone to be happy with their purchase.

Yeah since there are a ton of people rebuilding the 1.1 GTS...trust me, I’ve tried opening up one of those 4 speeds, all the tools stated to rebuild them are wrong...total pain. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

I will say this, I am interested in a few of these items, but why play stupid games? If you want to auction them off, put them on eBay. If you want to sell them, price them.

    ... ?

    https://www.ebay.com

Blind auction is the way to get the highest price for an item. That's because bidders will bid their maximum personal value for it, regardless of any competition since they don't know about their competition. (i.e. if they're the only one who wants it and values it at $100, versus, if no one else bid would have picked it up for fair market value of perhaps only $10).

Regular auction is the best way to get a fair price for an item. That's because the winning bidder only pays slightly more than the 2nd place person. They pay the value it has to buy it from every other buyer.

I dunno about this being to give everyone the fairest chance.

Bit of a silly and convoluted process to use a forum like this.

I for one am one of the few that would have made you a decent offer on everything, but this process is pretty stupid. So I will not be “bidding” on any of it. If you want to sell this stuff for real money, you have limited yourself by this strange bidding process. There is a lot of the items that just are not worth anything, that usually get bundled into a package deal.

It’s like you want to sell the parts, but you are going about it in the way to make the least amount of money?

Parts for sale on this site was always a "first come, first served", "the early bird get's the worm" process. Putting your items up for sale in post one, morphing into an auction a bit further on is a new kind of whack-a-doodle I don't recall ever seeing here. Stick around here long enough and I guess we'll see everything!

Nobody asked, but I'm saying; that's what ebay is for. Or maybe that Swapmeet facething site for Opels.

    Ethics, my friend....ethics.

Keith and Opels Unlimited are the only two Opel outfits that would buy everything. There aren't many non-GT Opels left in the US. Most of these parts aren't for a GT, so selling them will take time. He could sell it all rather quickly to Keith for a reasonable amount, or spend forever trying to sell it all one piece at a time. People who don't know the Opel community think two things: 1, their NOS parts are worth lots of money. 2, they can make more money selling it piece by piece than making a deal for all of it. A bulk payment goes farther than a little here and a little there.

I'm going to be the voice of reason. I must be getting old.

I say to cut the guy some slack. He's not used to a forum site, with a small bunch of uppity users (~snicker~). Most forums are cutthroat and to interact you have to be a little cutthroat.

I'm sure he will see that we're all really a great group of guys that, with our unique personalities, make up a weird family of sorts.

It's difficult to be a newcomer to any group and know the rules of etiquette right off the bat. I have faith that, with patience and understanding, he will realize the correct way to put these, hard to find, parts for sale on this website. I think we should go easy on him and offer direction and definitely not berate him for not knowing our etiquette right off the bat.

    NOS Parts for sale

Well, time for History 101 in regards to Opel parts re-sale. When we first decided to go into the Opel service side of Opel Parts & Service, the Buick dealers were still stocking and ordering Opel parts from GM. First off we were going into competing with the dealership for repair work on Opels which they were not keen on to start with. After talking with four dealers we finally got one to sell to us at 10% off list price because we did have a business license, tax number and a shop. For that 10% off we had to compile a parts order list complete with part numbers, and take it to the dealership, we had to wait for the order to come in (usually about a week or 10 days) go back to the dealership and pick it up and pay for it right then. We then had to put it in inventory, stock it in our parts room and wait for someone to buy it at list price. So we were just making labor for the repairs we did and maybe breaking even on the parts sale. We started buying up Opels out of back yards, car lots and abandon vehicles wherever we could and had them towed to our shop and stored outside till we could strip them for good used parts. So if this person wants to rid their selves of these parts they need to take a look at not conducting an auction but find some other means if they want to sell all of them quickly.

Dieter, you know you will be back. Remember who put me up for our joke at the Pavilion. and you wanted me to try it out? Unh unh Right.

People always wait for a train wreck. Even when they know it is coming. Here it is in a nutshell.
1 he's new to our board. 2 he wants to get rid of his "stuff". 3 He thinks his "stuff" is worth a lot.
4 He doesn't realize/know that his things only pertain to certain cross section of our board. So what have you got?
He just wants to make some money, quickly, and doesn't know what he is selling is only valuable to him, or Keith or Todd, who can afford to put his things, on their shelves and wait for the job to come in, that will use the parts. So Todd, Keith, are taking a chance on purchasing the items not knowing whether they will be able to use them in the future. Simple Jarrell
