General Information

Purchased 2007 on Ebay, drove for two years before starting full restoration in the fall of 2009.Car had dirt ground in to paint so bad I had to wash it with a 3M pad the first time I washed it just to get it white. LOL
1973 Opel GT (white)


Compufire DIX ignition. Honda Civic aluminum radiator, Weber carburetor, Header, 21/2" stainless exhaust with 2 custom built 304 stainless mufflers and poly hangers. Getrag 5 speed. Master brake cylinder and power booster changed to 89 GEO, and moved back to fire wall, Optima battery relocated behind driver seat under package self, stock 71 engine. Brand new 2.4 waiting upgrades to be named later for future install.
Mitsubishi Eclipse seats, cut 1 1/2" off bottom, and 1" off outside of frame, refitted Opel slides. Three point seat belts. Dash is fully restored. Optima battery relocated behind driver seat under package self. New headliner, custom carpet and interior panels all homemade.
Chemically striped entire car of paint, sent the doors, hood, and light buckets out to be acid dipped and e coated. Sand blasted engine bay, primed every thing in epoxy primer, welded new metal in where needed, high build primer and block sanded down to 1500 grit (thought my arms would fall off at this point ) Painted white with PPG base clear. Wet sanded clear with 2000 grit and buffed.
Retro sound model one indash, 4"X10" retro sound three way speakers in the rear, and 41/2" retro sound two way speakers in door panels.
One inch lowering sport spring in front, poly bushings front and rear, sway bars front and rear, larger 75 calibers up front. Rebuilt stock wheel cylinders in the rear.

Nitrogen filled to 28 PSI corners great, rides nice. Have not got it to slide on a corner yet, hoping the 2.4 will help LOL
