Purchased wrecked in 1974 by my brother. My father was an auto mechanic and helped him fix it up. He had it for several years and painted it brown and then red. It sat unused for 2 years in the yard and then I got my license and inherited it in 1985. I patched the rust spots and painted it white. Got rear-ended in 1987 and had to weld a replacement rear fender on from a parts car. Painted it two tone blue and black as you see it in the photos. I have had this car since I was 16. I decided that after several years of letting it sit while having children and doing that "life" thing, I should restore the car. Unfortunately after finally stripping parts and the engine in preparation for the resto, I determined that the past wrecks and rust damage made the Opel too far gone to justify spending any money on it. Last year in 2011, I made a painful decision to chop it up for parts and find another Opel to restore with a better base body. I still have all of the car here in pieces ,<sob> and will remove from the garage when they have been transformed into another Opel.
