Hey guys I have a question,
I'm getting ready to rebuild the oil pump for my 1.1L, pump housing and pickup have been steamed cleaned I have the new gaskets and new gears & spring do I need to use any silicone on either of the gaskets? (pump to block or the pump gear cover/pickup to pump housing
i have the 1969 FSM but can't seem to find an answer.
any information is much appreciated

You do have those gaskets? No you will not use sealer, I made tracings of those gaskets because they didn’t seem to come in full gasket sets for the 1.1. So where were you able to source them from?

Just to be clear, are you just talking about the filter housing that bolts to the side of the block, or the internal oil pump? On the internal you have two gaskets. One at the base between the block and the pump housing, and one on the gear cover/pickup tube and plate. The one at the block would be okay to seal a little bit, but nothing for the cover, it will seal itself fine

I was talking about both, pump to block and cover to housing,
So I can seal pump to block, but don’t seal the gear cover to pump,
