I have the sport springs on my GT now, and with the 195/60 14 tires it has about 4 1/2" min clearance. This is enough around here for anything except larger speed bumps. With the 235/45 13s I will have about 3 3/4"... that will be really pushing it around here.
Also depends on your suspension height. My old Ascona was lowered 3" front and 2.75" rear, with 235/50-13 front tires and 245/50-13 rear tires (22.25" and 22.64" tall respectively). I had doubled-up front sway bars in front, so yes, it was low for some roads. If you lower your car's suspension no more than 1.5" you should be fine.
Duane Foley's Manta runs 215/50-13 tires with a set of springs I used to sell similarly low to my Ascona's. There have been photos of his car on this BB.
Actually, I used to run 235/50/13's on the rear. However, when I went to replace that set, I could not find any decent performance tires in a 235/50/13. So I now run 215/50/13 all around. They are mounted on 7.5 inch front rims and 8.5 inch rears. I rolled the lip of the wheel arches and have had no interference problems. The tires are close but do not hit.
I have a set of ATS wheels that are 13x7. Not sure of the offset but they fit nicely on the GT. I posted pics of the wheel markings. Will a 205/60R13 work well on this wheel?
Or should it be larger?
Just wanted to check to make sure these wheels will fit my GT. I'm not lowering the vehicle at all.
If so, what size tires can I use without having any rubbing issues?
15x7 4x100 10 offset. Doesn't say plus or minus, so I'm assuming...
I have searched and searched, but can't find what I'm looking for. Basically in a nutshell will 16x8 wheels with +20 offset fit a stock GT.
I'm wanting to get XXR 531's. They come in the 16" or 15x8 with +20. Would the 15" be better?
I plan to put Dunlop Direzza DZ102 205/45 front and 225/45...
I come from the VW world, I've had at least one from each generation from mk1-mk7. I currently have two '80 Sciroccos in addition to my GT so I totally understand how this can be a devisive subject. On mk1 VWs 15s are about the max for a daily driver, 16s are really pushing it and 17s are very...
I have decided that while waiting to see if the Liquid wrench will loosen the Bolts from Hell, on the front suspension, that I will use the time wisely and polish my aluminum wheels to a luster which should be very similar to the look of chrome. They already look pretty good but I am hoping to...
