I have the sport springs on my GT now, and with the 195/60 14 tires it has about 4 1/2" min clearance. This is enough around here for anything except larger speed bumps. With the 235/45 13s I will have about 3 3/4"... that will be really pushing it around here.

Depends on your city streets and speed bumps.

Also depends on your suspension height. My old Ascona was lowered 3" front and 2.75" rear, with 235/50-13 front tires and 245/50-13 rear tires (22.25" and 22.64" tall respectively). I had doubled-up front sway bars in front, so yes, it was low for some roads. If you lower your car's suspension no more than 1.5" you should be fine.

Duane Foley's Manta runs 215/50-13 tires with a set of springs I used to sell similarly low to my Ascona's. There have been photos of his car on this BB.

Actually, I used to run 235/50/13's on the rear. However, when I went to replace that set, I could not find any decent performance tires in a 235/50/13. So I now run 215/50/13 all around. They are mounted on 7.5 inch front rims and 8.5 inch rears. I rolled the lip of the wheel arches and have had no interference problems. The tires are close but do not hit.
