quick question .....

well .... im new here ... i just got my new baby a 1969 opel kadett b coup ....
i got it for 350.00 cash and a quick tow home ... i been workin day and nite to fix it it's been sitting 28 years in a heated warehouse .


was wondering what i can exspect ... as far as speed and excell it's got a 1.9 in it ... and it's got a few extra boxes of parts im going to sort threw and peice out ...

hope i got a decant running car in the end ti love the looks of it ... will have pic's soon ..

Congratulations on your "new" car! And welcome to the group
Depending on where you live in Illinois there are quite a few group members around the Chicago and Springfield areas. Or if you happen to live closer to the Wisconsin side there is a great group that meets monthly in the greater Milwaukee area. One of our members is also a Kadette fan and would probably be of great help to you and your car. Keep us posted on your progress and let us know if we can be of help.

im in Pekin illinois ... next to peoria ... i am really happy with the car even when it's not running .. i have turned heads ... even the tow truck guy came back after he dropped it off " he stayed a hour 1/2 after work to get it to me "
Then came back to see it ... i've had 3 or 4 people stop and gaze at it in my garage ...guess it's damn near perfect it's been stored 28 years ... and people can't belive the shape it's in. i'd be happy if it ran " we are gonna try to get it started tonight " so i'll keep ya guys posted .

Bought mine in Seattle a little while back with just 26K on the clock at the time. All original, including paint and Solex. Flew up from Texas, drove back through 7 states with only two small problems, both fixed on the road. Ran out of gas in Idaho at 2.30AM with my exit in sight (didn't realize tank was 3 gallons smaller than my GT!) and had oil gusher from the failed OP sender just north of Helper, Utah.

That little car really grows on you!! If you need help, I'm here.

nice !! it's grown on me alot and it's just in my garage ... im taking pics in a few hours i've goto run to work then i'll have pic's of mine up .... thanks for the offer i'll prolly need a lil/lot of help along the way .
