The only difference in the GT Distributor is in the vac / retard set up. You can use any year of the distributor. Getting one that the rubber in the chamber has not degraded and leaking is usually the issue. There are usually ones on ebay and I have purchased them from A1- Cardone that are remanufactured. You can no longer purchase direct from Cardone so you have to use a supplier.

Also what do you mean by "worn out" The internal bushing is replaceable. If the lobes are worn, you can go to an electronic system like Pertronix 2 or 3. If the springs are broken, you will need to find a parts donor. If the copper wire is broken off, you can take it to a shop that rebuilds starters / alternators, and they can repair that. Also do an ebay search with just the BOSCH numbers on the distributor, sometimes people have one and do not know what it is for.

Rick see if this is the distributor number on yours because this is the (factory) Bosch number that should be in there. 1970-71.........................167 007

I checked with Advance Auto and they no longer carry this part. My only way is to have mine rebuilt and it's being done by Cardone. I was told they haven't made this part in over 30 years and feel lucky they still rebuild.

If you strike out with Cardone, I actually just found two early 1971 distributors. They have the early advance mechanisms, just like the 1970’s.

They just need to be cleaned up and lubricated.
