More good info on the ease-of-restoration of the GT. One of the other cars I actually have been eyeballing as a candidate is the Triumph GT6. Sounds like, with similar mechanicals as the Spitfire you’d recommend this from an ease-of-restoration point of view.

I’ve also been looking at Karmann Ghias and Sprites (bugeye era), but I may have missed the window for finding an affordable example of those that aren’t complete rust buckets.
If any body is interested I put My "" Super Nice Rust free Red MGB up for Sale on Craigslist :
Five Speed Trans, Lots of Performance Parts,

Moderators, can we merge the Mike Lane sale of his car to a new thread, as it doesn't seem to pertain to anything on this thread about automatic transmissions except the OP was looking at a few other cars. We seem to be letting these threads go down other rabbit holes.

I owned the MG since 2006 and been Garage kept. I'd Joined a British Car Club, that let me drive my Opel GT with the Brit's on there events and cruises,,, Then I was kinda talked into one,, by a few Brit. car club guys
So I purchased this Red MGB with the best body paint I could find and added all the performance parts.
I spent a lot to make it nice, has a Moss Motors Five Speed, and Webers,, added Cold Air Intake
'''The After Market Modifacations"""
Yea,,know like I would do with any Opel I've owned,,, make it better to drive in these days ,,these times,,these roads..... well, guess what ... the british Buyers don't like Mod's ... at all.... They want me to take them off.... Go Figure??? So I have to find the Right Buyer who want a mint MGB with tons of improvements and after Parts,, Heck ... I couldn't stand the British SU's Carb, intake set up....but to each there own...Here the Ad:

The wheels are Superlites,,, a Australian Wheel company no longer in business ( rare wheels)

Yes, I think that a 4,or 5 Speeds are more Fun to drive in a two seater sports car, Downshifting helps Road Handling, and Control, and braking...( that's we call Spirited Driving) over and Automatic Transmission

I love chrome bumber MGBs. My brother has a maroon one that he auto crosses regularly.

More pics would be nice. Relist it on CL and then give us a link. I like all kinds of car porn. British, Italian, German, Japanese, Murcan; it's all good.
