Thanks for all your inputs, id really like to have put one in but after reading your thoughts, which i sort of knew in the back of my head, ive decided to keep the 2lt for now, is still a fun car to belt around countryside in (i live rural) maybe if i hit the lotto ill do it then, cost wouldnt be an issue then.

Not sure how efi compares, I know from experience that a 38 DGAS completely changes the character of the 2 liter compared to 32/36 DGAV. Sooo much more torque...but tuning can be fussy. Or sidedrafts....

Have you considered a 2.2 or 2.4 GM Ecotec from a RWD Solstice/Sky or from a European Opel Speedster ?? There are also S/C or T/C 2.0 versions.

I have heard that putting a 2.0/2.2/2.4 Ecotec in a GT is a difficult install with lots of cutting. I have a 2.4 Ecotec in my Solstice Coupe. I had contacted a guy who had installed a 2.0 turbo Ecotec in a friend's Manta and he said it would be a very tough, messy, install. He was steering me in the direction of a 1.6/1.8 Ecotec with the built in turbo instead. Finding the right RWD tranny set up was going to take some time.....
