I went to look at two gt's last night. I don't think I have room for the "spare parts car" but they are a package. The other has an 88 SVT turbo charged engine installed and 5 speed tranny but all the rest of the turbo and radiator are not installed. Also has Steinmetz flares, air dam,and side skirts"they are not installed"look new.I have a lot of work ahead of me but I think it is worth it for $800.00.Iwas wondering if it is common to put the SVT motor in a gt.If so how hard is it to finish the turbo and radiator.I was also wondering how much it usually costs to have the flares installed.Any comments might help. Thanks Tim

i know theres a few people who've done the 2.3 liter engine swap from ford, not sure if any were the SVT turbocharged engine tho, hopefully somebody can tell you if you'll need any cutting to the body to make the turbo fit and work. if the body is solid and engine is good, 800 is not a bad price at all, i'm sure the flares were a couple hundred all on their own. try to find some information on john haas' car, as he did a 2.3 liter ford, which i'm pretty sure was the turbocharged version.

FWIW,

There is no such thing as an 88 SVT anything. If you meant SVO, as in the 2.3 turbo mustang, it's production stopped in the 86 year-run. The SVT performance division wasn't even established until '91. 2.3 turbo Fords (Lima's, not duratecs) were never made after 89, and died with the XR4Ti.

Just trying to clear things up.
