Just got back from California late last night, and thought I'd give an update from the OMC picnic. The turnout was smaller than I'd expected, but it was probably the most laid-back OMC picnic I've attended, with a very relaxed atmosphere. It's always good to see the faces of all those you know so well from the internet, but rarely see in person.

BTW, if you have ever thought about attending this event, make SURE you attend the 25th anniversary meeting in 2005. There are some EXCELLENT plans for this show, and great prizes to boot. It will be huge...

Gil Wesson's (of Opel GT Source) other Opel GT. Maybe not as aggressive as his red GT, but very nice in its' own right.

Speaking of Opel GT Source, they were kind enough to again supply many of the raffle prizes at this year's picnic. Included in these prizes were these brand-new reproductions. I am mentioning this because these are things that MANY of us need for our cars, and have not been available before.

Clockwise, starting from the upper left are:
1)Reproduction carburetor inlet air hose for GT's.
2)Torque tube donut, in much stronger rubber material. Excellent for high performance use BTW!
3)GT fuel tank outlet line boot.
4)GT steering column firewall boot
5)GT/Kadett/Manta/Ascona rack and pinion input shaft boot.

Louis Vasquez's Opel GT. Apparently a very early model, supposedly the 200th GT made. Roger Wilson drove this car to the show.....

.....so I drove Roger Wilson's GT to the show. Not a show car, but with a 165 hp 2.2 litre, who cares about paint?

This year's event was in Huntington Beach at a park. I'm not sure where the '05 event will be held.
