If we stick with the Route 66 plan we should be going through there. I'm sure we could coordinate something. We're not sure of the stops yet. I'm also waiting to see the details of the proposed "easterner" route.

Driving the GT out is not in the cards. Been hoping to fly out for the opening weekend but Connie has recently changed jobs and we are not sure about time off.

Obviously I plan to come, but finances and such may complicate this.

I may come with friends who will be driving their camper. We'll probably switch off for the driving so they are not stuck in the truck the whole time.

I'll put a seat in for the passenger, probably the Kirkey. 1000 miles is not that bad on a tail bone.

Have people considered swapping cars fr parts of the tour? You're all welcome to drive mine.

I might try to go to Vegas for a weekend. I’ve heard there is to be a meet up in Vegas between Friday, April 27th and Sunday, April 29th. Is that correct? And what hotel / casino are you guys staying? Is there a specific one chosen or just fend for yourself?

The Opel Nationals are being held on Friday-Saturday.

The hotel, recently changed from the original plan, is the Gold Strike Hotel and Casino in Jean, NV.

Between Gil and I we'll have plenty of souvenirs to take home with you. We've just ordered 120 coffee mugs. See the attachment. I'm also making a poster, large, 36x24. I'll also be bringing some Tinyvette swag, including t-shirts, small posters, bumper stickers.

I've made a large (40x20) map we can hang in the wall or lay out on a table at our meeting places.

Thanks for the info. I just booked a room for Friday & Saturday nights. Now I just have to drive there after work... I'll miss Friday night's meet and greet but the car show is what matters anyways.

A bunch of folks from our area will be meeting up with Gil in Fresno on Thursday to make the drive to Jean. We hope to join them. We'll be bringing the Tinyvette and Kurt's camper (attached photo).

Bernhard, part of our original race team, is looking into flights from Germany to SF or Las Vegas and will be joining us.

Gil spent last weekend getting his GTs ready.

Gil told me all of the officers from the European Opel club group will be coming.

Jens Cooper, it seems at this moment, will not be coming.

Gil and I talked about souvenirs yesterday. All that is coming along great. We'll have stuff for this tour, OMC, and Team Tinyvette.

The coffee mugs were a hit at the 35th anniversary of OMC and sold out very quickly, many people purchasing more than one. They were all gone before Gil and I could grab one for ourselves. We're making twice as many this time and I'll be making an order form so if we do run out of anything people can order them and we'll have more made and ship them later.

We'll have a conference room at the hotel in Jean and it includes a projector. We'll use that during the map meeting/discussion before the tour. We can also play videos, slide shows, and I will be bringing the demo version of the OMC DVD, containing issues of The Blitz I have in electronic form. Eventually I'll get this done and the final version will include archival material from other clubs, too.

Of course I'll be bringing extra copies of The Blitz.
