21 Days and Counting for International Opel Picnic and Festival June 13, 2015.

Hey Folks, here is the start of our day to day countdown as the Festival is being worked on on a daily basis now. Two big store trips so far gathering a great selection of food that everyone will be happy with.

In the last couple of days all 4 lawns around the Manor got mowed. A huge amount of work in and of itself. Thank You so much to everyone who helped.

A pretty good selection is still left of our new parts and productions from the Carlisle, PA show. Looks like we will be out of three or four items out of our 85 different new parts and developments. This week we will be adding so many of our larger and heavier products that we couldn't show you while traveling on a plane. From Carpet Kits to Interiors to even heavy metal items such as front sport springs and exhaust systems, Water Pumps, Brake Shoes, many other heavy items that we manufacture on a regular basis. This will be our best and largest Sale and display ever. We will be transporting more and more items every week. Two more huge boxes from Germany are expected in time for the Festival as well adding another 50 items.

Soon we will be bringing some special cars from the Opels Unlimited's Museum site. Currently we are still deciding which ones to bring. Other cars will join the meet as cars for sale soon from the private collection at the Manor as well. Lots of fixer uppers for $2,000 or under. Quite a few cars, mostly Mantas and GTs. It is possible a grand tour of the car collections can be provided if time permits.

Woody the KJ/DJ is on board again for creating great music and atmosphere throughout the Festival. He canceled his other gig and will be here the night before, staying in the VIP suites. So music, announcements and everything will be handled professionally right from the beginning.

More updates coming soon every day. We will keep you all caught up.

20 Days and Counting for International Opel Picnic and Festival June 13, 2015

20 Days and Counting for International Opel Picnic and Festival June 13, 2015

Wow we are really all tired this time, the day started at 8am. We had three landscaper helpers come and do a lot of work around here to get the place presentable for the Party. Even cut down a Pine Tree, got lots of good wood for the fireplaces and fire pits, inside and outside.

We did a walk through on the Manor cars and we have decided on nine cars total that we will have cleaned up. Throughout the next week we will be changing rims and tires, adding parts and totally cleaning and prepping up these nine hand picked cars that will be for sale at the event. Most are priced in the $2,000 range. There is a few more priced higher like a mint condition original GT and even a rare Commodore 6 cylinder.
Some real good buys for future Manta owners. Some easily restorable cars, some even original paint.

Then we were off to the Opels Unlimited Museum to catch up sending parts and to start building our fun engine to test fire at the event. Lots of improvements on our Hillybilly apparatus. This time we are sporting and featuring Opels Unlimited's new adjustable Oil Pump design. Lots of gauges and hoopla. Wish us all luck that we get it all finished in time with just two Saturdays left before the event.

More items came out of the museum as the van was packed again with more sales goodies. This time the Sales Display will be so big that it will round the corner like it did in the last few shows but will also cover a large straight area. Large enough to feature our oldest special feature car, a real wooden wheeled 1931 Buick. A great photo opportunity for everyone as there will be so many others as well. Lots of great scenery and lots of great cars will be here too. Ofcourse bring yours if you can, but even if you can't, for sure don't miss out.

20610 Eureka Street, Perris, CA 92571. Saturday June 13, 2015. Local Hotel available. Call 909-355-OPEL(6735) for more information. More picture sets and updates will be coming soon.

19 Days and Counting for the International Opel Picnic and Festival June 13, 2015

19 Days and Counting for the International Opel Picnic and Festival June 13, 2015

Alot more clean up in and around the Manor getting everything away from family life and getting set up for Party and Festival life. Currently we are making road signs to make it easier for people to find the Manor this year and you all should know there is a close by really nice Hotel.

Big thanks to everyone who has been helping us all week long.

It has been decided there will be nine cars for sale at the Meet. Even one super nice original from the Riverside Opel Museum itself. Actually, eventually a few more cars will be moved from there to be showed off at the Festival. Johnny's Evolution One Prototype, finished as a running car now. Not just this special corner stone gem, but there are also plans for bringing Manny Wong's famous Concept GT.

Not too many days left, today's countdown is 19 days.

Here's some pictures of the signs to look for and the front picnic area. Lot's more tables and chairs coming soon. Three big huge trees for shade and our own private shaded patio area. Thinking about bringing TV Video out there as well with the collection of Opel Enthusiast Master Tapes. Other members encouraged to bring their tapes and photo collections as well.

Lot's of prizes and giveaways this year. Even talk of trophies this year, like never before.

15 Days and Counting for the International Opel Picnic and Festival June 13, 2015

15 Days and Counting for the International Opel Picnic and Festival June 13, 2015

Well Howdy Folks, what a day we had today. We had volunteers here all day and all night, no joke, to help prepare the Manor inside and out for the Festival. The pictures show the transformation of the front yard area. Inside got a terrific cleaning in advance of the evening after party.

We ordered the catered food today and this year we will have a Mexican Feast and good ol home cooking from 12 noon on. Here is the Menu:
Mexican Chips and Salsa and Pico de Gallo
Corn Tortillas
Flour Tortillas
Real Chili Verde
Real Mexican Restaraunt Carnitas
Rice
Hot Dogs
Polska Kilbasa
Van de Kamps Baked Beans
Hormel Chili
Kraft Mac N Cheese
Relish Tray
Snacks
Water and Soda

Plus participants are encouraged to bring a dish so we have a real down home feast.

Remember this is a free Festival and entry includes your first two raffle tickets free.

Spoke to the Wallis brothers in Colorado today and they confirmed they are driving in for the festivities. So exciting.

Another set of four alloy 15 inch rims and tires was purchased and built today for one of the cars going up for sale. Many other additions will complete all of the cars this year for sale. Lots of complete package deals on complete cars will be the best deals available for 2015. Along with our best Sales Display ever with more items featured than at any time. Even three more items came today. So much acitivity, can't wait to share it with you Saturday June 13th.

Lots of volunteers and real parts will be added to finish these cars. It is confirmed that there will be at least nine plus cars available, complete for sale before the picnic and festival even begins. A five hundred to $1,000 deposit will insure that you are capable of securing and setting up the next Opel car of your dreams. There are ofcourse plenty more at the Opel Museum in Riverside. However there will definitely be a select few available for sale throughout this great event.

Well time to say goodnight. We have a full day tomorrow working with Mike and the engine for the Hillybilly Dyno and we are moving Johnny Roberson's Evolution One over to the Manor tomorrow night. Yippee. Can't wait to see everyone here. Other customer cars will be stacking up and there are reservations being taken. If you are considering bringing your car it is best to call us now 909-355-OPEL(6735). It is our goal to give the best parking places around the main fountain for all participants. We can only guarantee the special reserved places for the people who contact us in the next 7 days as the Opel picnic venue and show area is filling up rapidly and we would like to give special representation to people who are driving from far away and planning in advance.

13 Days and Counting for the International Opel Picnic and Festival June 13, 2015

13 Days and Counting for the International Opel Picnic and Festival June 13, 2015.

Hey folks some of the latest things we did, as promised, is that we added 15 inch alloy rims to some of the cars for sale line up with some really good deals for just $2,000 and under. Seats, grills, windows, even hoods are available to sweeten the deal on these cars. These are the pick of the litter cars from our Northern CA Buy-out and Estate Sale earlier this year. Also there is even an early bumper straight bodied Manta with both electric doors and windows. 15 inch rim set and tires were added to this one as well and it is still advertised for just $2, 000.

The seven cars for sale is moving forward very well, as promised. Still to go is moving the cars from the Opel museum in Riverside. Two very special cornerstone toys as well as a super nice original car for sale. The toys being the President of the OEC's Evolution One car, world famous already, and also including Manny Wong's famous concept GT, also for sale at this meet.

The front lawns and landscape, tables and chairs, are all cleaned up and in great condition. We are even trying to get the Gardeners back to finish off all the great rock and water fountain atmosphere. The perfect place for group pictures throughout the day.

Excitement is really ramping up as we contact more and more people.

The engine test stand and new motor are looking really good but we are all nervous because it hasn't even fired up yet. We can tell you that our new constant pressure oil pump system cracked a nice 50 pounds right off the bat and then tapered down to an even 47, right away when drill priming the engine and all the rockers and lifters oiled very quickly. No leaks, no issues, we are all excited, fingers crossed to have it pop off on this coming Saturday, our last possible day to do engine work before the Festival.

It's a good time to have you all in our thoughts and prayers and we all hope it is going be a fun great Festival, yet again. We hope we are not trying to do too much but so far it looks like we can pull it all off.

12 Days and Counting for the International Opel Picnic and Festival June 13, 2015

Hey folks, what a great day, we finally got all of our Award Certificates printed. Looking real good also here are some pictures of the $10 Gift Certificates that will given to all Opel Owners for free as well as one dollar tickets throughout the show.
Giveaway drawings should be around 5 or 6.

Gift Certificates will also be available for friends and family, should you want to purchase them, now is the time. You can always make it a birthday or Christmas present because most of us Opel owners are serious about our cars and getting good parts at great prices so they would be greatly appreciated.

Also there is a picture of the color copy of the flyer that we sent out to all OEC members. If you need a copy just give us a call, just 12 days left. It is going to go fast, like one week for all of us. Call 562-690-1051.

Alot more new items came in to add to the Sales Display, even another big one on it's way from Europe, just in time. Now it's all a big countdown to the festivities.

More food was purchased today. Even a nice watermelon and other ingredients to finish Todd's Jungle Juice for the evening party.

10 Days and Counting for the International Opel Picnic and Festival June 13, 2015

10 Days and Counting for the International Opel Picnic and Festival June 13, 2015

Howdy Folks, we need to start tonight's post by correcting our last post. We inadvertently stated that $10 Gift Certificates would be given to all Opel Owners. It is actually two free Raffle Tickets that will be given to each attendee. Additional Raffle tickets are available throughout the day and it is the Gift Certificates that will be a part of the days final Raffle. Gift Certificates are also available for purchase for easy gift-giving.

Today was a day focused on continuing to prep the Manor grounds for the event. Donna, one of our greatest volunteers was over and put hours of work into the landscaping. She has been a tremendous blessing to us.

We also got some good time into shipping for our customers today. They have been so patient as we work double time to get ready for the Festival and continue to take care of our daily business.

Tomorrow we are moving Johnny's famous Evolution One over to the Manor to take it's place as the Centerpiece of the Festival. We are all very excited for Johnny and his achievement with this fabulous car.

Everyday we hear of someone else coming to the Festival and we are looking forward to a very healthy turnout.

We do have some important business. There is Road Work on a main street to the Manor so we would like to save some headaches by posting modified directions.
Off the 215 Freeway exit on Ramona Expressway and Calajo Expressway and turn on Ramona Expressway toward Perris Blvd. At Perris Blvd. turn right and go down to Orange Street. Turn left onto Orange and stay on Orange all the way to El Nido which is just past where they are building the new High School. Turn left onto El Nido and go down two streets to Water. Turn right onto Water and go up to the next street which is Eureka. Turn left onto Eureka and come down to the third Gate on the right. 20610 Eureka, Perris, CA 92571. Look for the flags and the House up on the hill with all the Opels out front. Regular car parking on the lower acre and Opels use the forked driveway to come right around the fountain and right up next to the festivities. Hope this helps.

Any questions call us at 909-355-OPEL(6735), ask for Todd or Debbie.

Nine Days and Counting for the International Opel Picnic and Festival June 13, 2015

Nine Days and Counting for the International Opel Picnic and Festival June 13, 2015

Howdy Folks - tomorrow Friday it will be eight days and counting, lots more manufacturers and distributors are coming up with lots of supplies this week so it is going to be a really big display this year, so big, it will take us two days to price, inventory and set it up. And of course all the prices will be out of this world.

We have been asked by customers so start putting our great prices out at the same time we talk about our new updates and developments. Here is an attempt at that. Being a direct Empi Warehouse Distributor has been huge for us. Things like complete Chrome Weber Air Cleaner Kits now just $14.95. Same for the popular ignition wires.

All the rubber manufacturers from all over the world, dropping huge orders on us all month long. You just can't stop or beat the prices that Opels Unlimited has to offer anymore. We are still offering complete door rubber for around the main door to body rubber for just $14.95 a side and even the lower sill rubber for just $4.95 new. Now we can add Kadett Quarter Window Popout rubber as well as all Asconas and all Wagons for the same money too. (Secret updated hinges available, just call, 909-355-OPEL(6735). We just had another huge roll of custom rubber manufactured for us as well as GT Underhood rubber finished for the same money and so many others.

All the rubber products for the Opel GT from front to rear, underside to topside, all mounts, bushings, window rubber etc., is now permanently some 40 to 80% off from just this last year to now 2015 from Opels Unlimited. Remember we all told you before, we are the company to watch in 2015.

We love seeing your reactions when you see for yourself the higher quality and the heavier duty construction of all of our new items. From the highest quality ball joints and tie rod ends made to date to even forged piston sets and now finned aluminum rear end covers. We are having so much fun being who we are and despite all the hours put in for so long, it still feels like we are not working, heading off to work or going to work at something we do not like to do. Not once not ever.

There is a saying in life and the customers remind us of this all the time when they see our infectious enthusiasm first hand. They say if you really enjoy what you do and it truly fulfills you in life because you are really helping someone who needs you, the biggest reward, it seems at the end that you never worked a day in your life.

Hope you are all having a fabulous Happy Opeling Summer like we are and we can't wait to see you all here Saturday June 13, 2015 at the International Opel Picnic and Festival in Perris, CA.

Seven Days and Counting for the International Opel Picnic and Festival June 13, 2015

Seven Days and Counting for the International Opel Picnic and Festival June 13, 2015.

Howdy Folks! Great long day today. The Gardeners and Donna were back today to continue to spruce up the Manor grounds. We got the centerpiece four tiered plaster fountain up and going and cleared a special place for pictures up close to the water. It is really beautiful.

We had a handful of volunteers today so we made good use of them and moved cars out for the special "Cars for Sale" section of the Festival. Most of these are Mantas from our big Estate Buy-Out last year and they are in great shape ready to find new homes. We are also bringing one of our showroom cars for sale as well and have a couple coming specifically to see this showroom beauty. We are excited for them and feel a match coming on!

We also spent time at the museum today working on shipping and pulling things that people would like to buy while they are at the show. Mike and Todd spent most of the day with the Hillbilly Dyno engine and it is purring like a kitten. It pops right off and runs beautifully. It took four of us to load it and the engine stand onto the trailer for the ride to the Manor but we managed to do it and now it is here just waiting to be the center of attention at the Festival. We will have some more pictures for you soon.

Well we think that is about it for today and we need to turn in early because the Gardeners are coming back one last time tomorrow and they are starting at 6:30 am!

The big Pomona Antique Auto Show and Swap Meet are tomorrow and Todd plans to attend to pick up some last minute things for the Festival. It is going to be another long day for him tomorrow, but he lives for this stuff and is like a kid he is so excited for the Event. Can't wait to see you all there Saturday June 13, 2015.

Two Days and Counting for the International Opel Picnic and Festival June 13, 2015

Two Days and Counting for the International Opel Picnic and Festival June 13, 2015.

Lots of scurrying around today as we close in on our deadline. 4 volunteers with us today and we appreciate everything they are doing.

Two big boxes of parts from some our US partners came today and can hardly wait to break them open and see what goodies can be included in Tammy's huge Sales Display. Wait till you see this thing folks. Todd is beginning work on it tonight and will work all day tomorrow and tomorrow night on the display. It is going to be amazing.

Speaking of amazing - Tammy has been working here magic today on further Gift Certificates and Awards. The only thing we don't know is how many Entry Packets to make. Those will be given away based on how many Opel owners come and show their car. We are going to try and have more than we need so we don't have to stop everything and make more!

Today Todd used the wicked Power Washer to clean the cars that are already here for the show. Yesterday he washed all the cars in the "Cars for Sale" section. They look great and because they are mostly Mantas the colors are great. Signal Green, Orange and Opel Lexus Blue. We hope to entice a buyer or two. So far during each of our meets we have sold a car and bought a car. We'll see if that works out this time as well.

Last on the agenda for the day is a trip to the Grocery Store to stock up for the Festival. Lots of soda and smoked sausages and cups and forks, all the necessary stuff! And of course all the fixings for Todd's famous Jungle Juice. The After Party is going to Rock!

Lot's of people and Woody the KJ/DJ will arrive tomorrow. Tomorrow we can do posts with pictures.

One of our friends got lost today on the way in because of detours and Road Work. Keep your eyes open for yellow signs that say "OPEL" and have arrows and remember to carry the 562-690-1051 number with you in case you get lost.

Remember folks there are already 16 Opels out front in the display and the number is growing daily so a basic rule - the lower gated area with one flat acre is available for all standard cars and trucks, as well as RV's. Also trucks and trailers park down there. If you have an Opel car to show off, or just be proud to drive, you go up the other driveway that climbs up the hill around the fountain, that we just got running this week, and that beautiful Island parking is for all Opels.

Don't worry about food, but if you wish to bring a dish or something to complement the picnic, go right ahead. Large tables were set up today for lots of food.

Additional Raffle Tickets and Gift Certificates will be for Sale. We are changing one more thing. This year when people win the raffle, rather than get the prize being held up, all the prizes will be left on the table for the winner to pick his own favorite prize. Rather than get something you don't necessarily want, you get to have your favorite goody in hand.

Also anyone can bring gifts to be raffled off as well. Your old Opel parts or prizes you can come up with may be somebody's dream as well. Two free raffle tickets will be given away upon entry and additional tickets are available for $1 each throughout the event. Proceeds from the Raffle Tickets and Gift Certificates will be put into a fund for next years event.

The Day Before the Event - International Opel Picnic and Festival June 13, 2015

The Day Before the Event - International Opel Picnic and Festival June 13, 2015

It's right down to the wire folks. Volunteers all over the place today and we all worked as a great team and got the marvelous Sales Display all put together. Todd, our fearless leader, had a blast going through everything and arranging it - just so. This is clearly the largest display we have ever had and everyone is going to be impressed. Be sure and come with your wish list. If for some strange reason we do not have what you are looking for here at the show, we can take your order and ship it out to you next week. Don't be afraid to ask.

Tammy continued to work on the Entry packets and she set up the Raffle display on it's own little shelf so everyone can see what prizes are available with the purchase of a one dollar Raffle Ticket. It would be great if participants brought Raffle items as well. It has been suggested.

In addition to Raffle tickets, our $10 Gift Certificates will also be for Sale throughout the day. These can be given as gifts or can be redeemed right at the show. The Gift Certificates are also included in our prizes for our Award Winners.

Also, for the first time ever, we are going to have event T-Shirts and event Stickers. There are only 12 of each so be sure and get yours early. We are really excited to be able to offer these. Once the initial costs are recouped any additional monies generated will go back to the OEC for next years event.

We plan on working for several more hours here, putting on the finishing touches and then we will crawl into bed and crash until early tomorrow when the big day will dawn bright with anticipation. Can't wait to see everyone here. Remember to call 562-690-1051 should you have any questions. Enjoy the pictures.
