Will you be doing a group buy for 36-1 trigger wheels and if so will the outside diameter be 6.100" for use with the special oil pump cover or some other dimension?
The 6.100" diameter would not stop anyone from making a bracket to be mounted elsewhere.
Was there a specific trigger wheel in mind when this was designed that I could purchase? I might want to use this feature at some point in the future, and I don't want to reinvent the wheel (pun intended).
I met the CNC guy a couple days ago. We agreed that we should do a one-off "sample" to send to Keith for fitting and inspection before we make the full run. As soon as the one-off is done I will fir it on my engine (in a stand) and then send it to Keith. That way it will have two fittings to make sure everything is good to go.
As soon as Keith gives his input, the run will be sent to production.
I don't know that the sleeve will be necessary. I was originally going to design it with a built in sleeve but the price went up significantly so I ditched it.
I'm also of the camp that believes the anodized finish will not be a problem.
I let the machinist know the hopeful timeline. If he can do it, I'll get it done.
When you say "next week", what date are you thinking?
but could you make me a supercharger outer pulley, in alloy, that bolts on to a standard 2.4 crank pulley
the threaded holes to bolt it on are there as standard on the 2.4 pulley
the new pulley has to be for the fitment of the ribbed multi type belt.
and of course what would be the cost approx for one of these.
you could have a good market for these in Europe
Additional P/N:
Detroit 14907 Harmonic Balancer Repair Sleeve
National 88176 for repair sleeve & tool:
Flange Outer Diameter: 2.063 in
Installation Depth: 0.813 in
Maximum Shaft Diameter: 1.767 in
Minimum Shaft Diameter: 1.761 in
Outside Diameter: 2.063
Overall Width: 0.688 in
Pulley CAD Drawing shows 1.766 diameter. Don't know if you would need to adjust down to 1.763 Diameter or ?
I asked the guy for the update and he said something broke on his machine and a new part is on the way.
I asked for a little more information and received the following in the email.
My parts will be in on the 18th and it will be a couple weeks after that. Would be sooner but I have to get everything assembled and tested before I start cutting.
I have the material and have started programming the lathe tool paths already. I have all the tooling except the broach already. The broach should be here Monday or Tuesday for the key way but that gets cut last, so there should not be any delays beyond that.
I think at the rate of time this is going, I'm going to have to get some made locally. When the guy gets his shat together, let me know and we will see what my order will be then. Not your fault, I just have customers waiting so need to get something out soon.
Let me know what you can get them for.
I'm not happy with this guy either.
If you need the STP file for making some, just let me know and I'll send it to you.
