Hey folks as promised, here are pictures of the newest customer engine almost ready to go out. We love test running these first on our famous Hillbilly Dyno. We added a big fat manual pressure gauge with dual readings. Basically it is holding 50 pounds at idle and starts to trim at 55 -56 pounds. At cruise speed, anything over 2,000 it has a nice steady even 55 pounds of pressure. This is what can be expected from our new high volume pump design on a regular basis. With it's adjustable settings you can always get more out of it, but it is best to keep it under 60 as a general rule, so you don't pop out the aluminum plugs on the top of the head, or worse yet, the rear main seal or the outer oil filter seal as well. What a nice rugged pump with no wear parts.
The Isky Stage III Cam and lifters broke in with no problems and the valves are quiet as a mouse, not a leak in sight. We test ran this motor 6 times before we decided it was ready to go. Whether you get a good used motor or any of Opels Unlimited custom rebuilds, it is always 100% recommended that you spend the $200 to have the engine test run and valves adjusted before shipping.
Another neat feature, for a very small fee of about $100 we leave the oil and oil filter in place as well as including the distributor, ignition and spark plugs that way it really is just a drop in for the customer. No effort needed. The whole engine is already tuned and timed. We learned alot after building new motors for the past 20 years and we are happy to pass along our experience directly to our customers, making their experiences as easy as possible.
More updates and pictures coming all week long. If we can't get them all out this week we will get caught up with everyone soon.
