Just wanted to remind everyone that the stripe kits offered as a dealer option in 1975 are available from www.stripeman.com. You can get the phone number from the web site and speak with Kevin Messina. These were offered for all 75 models (including Ascona & wagon) so they would be period-correct for any 75 car. I think they really add to the appearance of the cars. If you're at all interested...please give Kevin a call. I had these stripes reproduced from an NOS kit and if we don't buy them...I'm afraid he might discontinue them. They're available with white letters on black stripes or black letters on white stripes depending on the color of your car. Is there any place domestic to get the GTE stripe kits, including the front spoiler stripe? If not, does anyone have a set from which StripeMan might be able to make a template?

Thanks ... I checked the photos. I have the the rallye stripes (yet to install) from stripman. I have the GT/E airdam installed and since a plastic decal on the bottom edge will probably get lots of "abuse," (SCCA ITB car) I was considering painting a black 2-3 inch border on the bottom edge. BTW ... the airdam doesn't show as well with the fat bumper.

GT/E Reproduction?

David - Are you planning to have the SE and/or GT/E decals reproduced?? He charged me about $100 to copy the Manta and Sportwagon stripes and decals.

Stripe color

Both of the stripe styles were available from the dealers. The factory stripes were both I think. There was one matte and one gloss. If you want only the Sprot Wagon decal. The small block "Sport Wagon". Ask for dmccollam.cdl as the Item Code.

Different format

One important thing to make note of...If you buy a white stripe with black letters, it comes as a one-piece kit with the letters silk-screened on the stripe...just like original equipment. Unfortunately...he could not do this with the more popular black stripe with white letters. If you order it that way...it comes as a two-piece kit where the "OPEL" letters are applied as a separate decal on top of the stripe. That's the way it was last year when he first made them...but you may want to ask if anything has changed.
