Uh Yeh, Flipper, I was JUST going to do a V-6/T-5 swap, that was over 2 years ago. Now the whole car, almost, has been stripped, cleaned, chemically treated, and painted. Anything found to be suspect during disassembly was repaired or replaced. According to Gil of OGTS at the OMC Picnic this year, "You bought the whole store". I'm still waiting to have all 4 tires on the ground at the same time since I started. As far as spending money, let's just say that between the dog shows and other dog expenses and the GT, I started out with a $15K credit card at 0, I've been putting $500 on it every month during these 2 years and it is almost maxed out. Crazzzy, doesn't even come close.

Yikes! And people ask why they see so few Opels on the road these days. It's because we keep on "fixing" them to be a just a bit better. Ron, you may have bought Gil's store. But I have been at this one restoration for (at last count) a record amount of time. Let's see. I last drove it in 1986, but that was in the middle of what I started in 1983. So, twenty one years later, I am STILL disassembling things 'cause they aren't quite right. Hmm, do I see a little bubble under all that lovingly applied urethane primer/filler...

Don't feel bad, kwilford. I stripped my 1st GT down in 1983 to weld on the new butt plate and etch the metal. It's sitting! :( When I get my new shop built (next month or two), I'll finially get to start again, after #2 GT.

I put the red color on, and it looked so good, I just couldnt get myself to stripe it. Then I left the side skirts off, and it looked naturaly wonderful. :D

Flipper, I understand the OMG, what did I just get into (or uncover)...

I think I would agree with all of you about not seeing many of them on the road, because we are all working to make 'em better...

Mine, hasn't taked quite as long as some of yours, but been driven since fall of 1993; Its been in dry dock too long...
