TLDR: boiled shift knob and put a beer tap on. Looks cool.
I read on this forum that changing a shifter knob is alot of work. To me it was easy. I stuck it in a pan of water and when it started to boil I gently put the knob in the vice and the knob slid right off..
To be fair I had a spare tranny and shift lever to try this on.
I then drilled (1/2 in wide 1.5-2.5 in deep) out my beer tap and put some epoxy in the hole. I put a piece of paper in the reverse slide mechanism so glue wouldn't g
et in there. I might be able to pull that piece of paper out. Still waiting for the glue to dry.
