Today I was just checking around the car and I noticed a seam or something running down the tail of the car. (side to side) The paint is chipping off of it. I am planning on having the car painted eventually, but was wondering if this is normal or if the tails been replaced at some point??

How would it be fixed?

The rear of the GT is quarter panel - center panel - quarter panel. The seams run front to back where the center meets the quarters. The rear panel is one piece, spot welded to the quarters and center panel then covered with a trim strip.

The quarter panels are one piece from the door to the rear panel and include the cut out for the side window.

Maybe the car has been hit before. There are cracks through the paint going verticle across the rear lights and one long one down under the back bumbers.

Maybe just crappy paint job.

Just seemed like straight seams going across the back.
