Is there anyway one can test the brake failure switch to make
sure is working properly?

I just replaced my master cylinder and the brake failure light keeps coming on.

Could it be a "new faulty" master cylinder?

Any ideas?

Disconnect the lead at the master cylinder. If the light goes out, then you need to "balance" the braking system. Bleed some fluid out of the front disks until the light goes out. If it doesn't go out, bleed some fluid out of the rear brakes until the light goes out. Hope it works.:)

how exactly does the little "2 way toggle" in the dash work that says "brake" on it? if you push it either way it lights up a red light in the dash but i can't figure anything else about it............just wondering what its for or does.

I think it just "tests" the red light on the dash. If you have an automatic GT, then the red light comes on when you apply the parking brake(at least that is what the manual says). If anyone else knows what else the "brake" rocker switch does, I would also like to know.
