Brake Pedal not returning

Hi this is my first time on your forum, but must admit that I am well and truley stuck, well my brakes are anyway.

I have rebuilt a 69 gt to concours condition, but still have a problem with a sticking brake pedal. What it actually does it when you depress it, it returns half way and then slowley wanders back to position taking about 5 secs to do so. I have replaced the following:

Master cylinder, all flex hoses, rear slave cylinders, front pads, and have now just dismantled the front calipers and cleaned them all up and are woking fine.

My question is what returns the pedal to is correct position. Is it the spring in the master cylinder or is it when the fluid is flowing back to the master clinder. It seems to get worse when the car gets hot.

One thing I did notice on rebuild is that one of the front brake pipes (metal) had a slight kink in it.

cheers

Matt
