The brake pedal pivot......or some other brake linkage part under the dash.......is squeeking, very annoyingly. I've tried what would seem like sufficient amounts of lubricants down the cracks where the pedal arm pivots and it makes absolutely no difference. Any suggestions for other points down there that could need lubrication??

Thanks

On a Gt some had a big rubber piece at the firewall and some had an almost all steel adapter. The rubber ones are prone to squeeking and I think later changed. It could be the clutch cable too. HTH

ok goofed that. It could be the rubber pieces at the firewall or a bad pivot rod for the BRAKES to squeek.

One of my old pickups had that annoying squeak when I pushed in or let off the clutch pedal. I successfully remedied that problem by adding a 250 watt per channel Kenwood amplifier.
But seriously, I get that sort of complaint about big trucks every day, especially Sterlings (Ford/Freightliner). You just have to work spray-can "grease" into every little area that rotates, slides, pivots, or otherwise moves. It can be frustrating.
Good luck!

Teflon Dry Lube

Try liberal shots of Teflon Dry Lube (TDL) spray. It's not quite as slippery as the non-nutritious food shellac Clark Griswald sprays on his snow disc, but it’s very close.

The Teflon Dry Lube is very slippery, sprays on dry, and is not sticky, so it does not attract and accumulate dust/grime.

Seriously, this material is nothing to mess with from a health perspective. Make damn sure you wash your hands immediately after spraying, and even after handling the can. Do not breathe the fumes. This stuff will damage you; do not ingest it, nor breathe it.

I bought it at Office Max next to the End-Dust products. It is probably available at Ace Hardware and other hardware stores. Or, per the label, try blasterproducts.com.

It works on grandfather clocks' mechanisms, door locks, and intricate electrical mechanical devices (such as your Opel clock).

My knee makes a different sound....and maybe a power amp would be the better way to go.

...and thanks for the tip on the TDL.....the clock is one of my upcoming projects also.
