This may be in the forum somewhere, but my search didn't turn it up. Can GT brake shoes be purchased at AutoZone, O'Reiley’s, etc? They can't say they are discontinued. That being the case, is there a substitute?
if autozone by you is like it is here, they cant even list most parts for a GT and then they can never order them. "campbells" a small chain of auto stores has quite a bit of the stuff that i have needed, and european imports has alomost all of it, they have a 1800 number but i dont know it.
What I find in 99% of these places is that you cant go in and ask for a specific part!
They want to know what car it is for I guess for liability reasons. They can't look up parts by part names and IF they do have Opel even in their list, it shows that they carry no parts for it and have no cross references. This is where the community comes in hand like this place. Thanks Gary!
I am finding that it is best to just get a part number for the exact item and order directly from a manufacturer. Anyone here that has installed other parts should have the part number they used readily available.
I looked in their Weber carb book just the other day and they don't even LIST the 32/36 at all. They have 32/32 - 32/35 and all sorts of odd numbers.
Ohh well, I have graying hair for a reason I guess.
Ok I've grabbed bits and pieces about bleeding the brakes from several posts on this forum, but can anybody give me a step by step walkthrough. I don't want to get air bubbles stuck like I did on my fourwheeler last year haha.
My equipment consists of 2 floor jacks and 2 ramps, a brake bleeder...
Will a brake booster and master cylinder from a manta work on a GT? A guy I know has one and I wondered if it would work? It would be a lot cheaper than buying a brand new one. I am pretty sure it is in very good condition.
Searched but can't seem to find a thread on this topic. Ok so I've got the blue roadster driving but when I start the engine the brake booster pulls the pedal down. I found that I forgot to tighten the two nuts securing the MC to the booster and fixed that. Problem was better but when I start...
Have already replaced the Master Cylinder and Brake Booster, larger version from OGTS along with the brake booster hose and just ordered the stainless braided brake lines, pack of three, the new clips, and the j-tubes from OGTS as well as the caliper rebuild kit. I decided to go with Amazon for...
I figure this could use it's own thread. I looked and couldn't find one that was straight to the point in the first couple of posts..
Rebuilding brake calipers is not a huge undertaking. The hardest part is getting the pistons out.
First off, DON NOT split the calipers. There's no need to and...
