I know we like car porn so here is some, that some of us will recognize. A 69 Chevrolet SS Station Wagon. Everything was correct, including the rear step up on the bumper.

Only the second one I've seen. My son thought I had gone nuts. I was out the door and he hadn't parked. The owner was young. 40s, I would guess.

Because GM did not make and SS wagon in 1969. Someone simply but SS badges and made other changes to make it look like an SS.

the only year they ever made and Chevelle SS wagon was 1973.
Were the 1970 454 wagons were those SS’s or are those engine swaps?

I stand corrected then on the year. I did not talk the gentleman, just admired the car. However doing a Google search leads to chevelle station wagon ss - Google Search

Swap. The 454 was only available on the SS in the Chevelle line. No SS wagon in 1970.
One could swap all the parts from an SS and make a convincing copy.

The pics you posted ARE pics of a 69. It just isn't an SS. It is a clone. Lots of them out there.
