Funny you write this up... i've been having the same problem for about a week! ... 32/36 Weber + Original Air Intake doesn't have enough clearance to close the hood.
My guess is that most people have changed the air filter assembly for a non-stock one.

Hey Guys:
... but all I did was trim down the vertical portion where it "slides" over the top of the carb. It requires removing the stock clamp - but not much more - and then adding a set screw thru the remaining portion of the vertical portion into the top edge of the carb.
Rick,

How much did you trimmed down from the portion that slides over the top of the carb? I trimmed it about the size of the stock clamp and then even trimmed the carb adaptor and still there is not enough clearance!

Maybe there is more than one type weber carb adaptors?
Different heights? And I probably have the tallest?

Rick,

Thanks for the pictures.
That's exactly what I have done so far but it doesn't work for me.
I'll take a look at my carb to see how many gaskets the PO had installed and maybe that will take care of it.

Again, thanks for the info.
