Sorry if this is in the wrong Forum, but I was wondering about the difficulty of installing a carpet kit from OGTS. Just recieved it this morning, and going to put it in, in a week or 2, and from all the pieces..it looks like a time consumer. Also, how do you hold it down?

I agree with baronbors. I first applied the glue to the floorboards and then the foam and attached to the floor. I then applied the glue to the foam and then to the carpet. Follow the instructions on the can. I went through 3 or 4 cans of glue to do the whole car. Take your time and it will work out fine. It is easier to do if you do this with the seats out of the car. Replace the vinyl on the seat mounts while you are in there. The material is cheap from any cloth shop.

carpet install

I just installed new carpet in my GT and it took about a couple nights after work to do-I figure a good day project-very easy though. You have two choices + cut-pile, and loop. I like the loop-rougher but more like what it had originally I think. And easy to keep clean

Yes, to do a good job, you MUST remove the seats otherwise it will bunch up and you will get the glue all over everything! My buddy did his MGB last year and it was a fairly easy job. But I must warn you, do it in a VERY ventilated area!!!!! That 3M will get you loopy after a few minutes of inhaling the fumes just from installing the new carpet inside the car! I would also advise lubricating the seat adjustments while you have them accesable.
