That engine doesn’t look to have any chrome, it’s all polished aluminum. Gordo, these guys are chrome rookies. I’ve dealt with chrome ridges for years now, you have to remember that triple plating is just that, one layer of copper, layer of nickel, then chrome. Anything chrome that has to be assembled will require filing and tapping of threads. A lot of time they screw up threaded parts either by allowing the layers to build on the threads, or the electrolysis process eating away at `them. I usually have to file the holes of door handles to get the cylinders in

Yeah, I agree, it's mostly just polished stuff.

Yeah, I guess I got lucky on the stuff I had chromed early on, but later stuff I had done had major ridge problems.
