with just the head you would need diesel block to do the full copy of the 16 vavle manta rally engine and would get you something in the area of 160 bhp but is it easyer ??? you would have a lot of work as its a cross flow (the opposite of the cih engine ) you would be making your own exaust and may have problems finding things like an inlet manifold
the rest is OK
but you can do all this easy with a 2.4 frontera motor it will bolt straght up to the box and you only have to use the frontera front pipe to make it match the gt exaust then a new inlet manifold for carbs

4 or 5 speed whichever you want most people want to use the 5 with it to get the extra milage that the overdrive top gear gives

As far as I know, the 2.4 CIH was never offered with carbs, so no "stock" carb manifolds for raised port 2.2/2.4 heads. :(

As Baz rightly said:

There was a set of Weber manifolds for the 2.2/2.4 on e-bay Germany the other day. Seems to me they went pretty reasonable too, something like 175 euro, without the carbs. Thought long and hard about them for my own 2.2 head, but that's basicly the cost of a megasquirt, and put like that the decision for EFI was easy.

An inlet manifold for twin Weber DCOE/Dellorto Side draught carbs to fit the 2.4 CIH head is now available from Mangoletsi in the UK. It should also fit the 2.2 CIH head, which also has raised ports.

Motoscope in North Yorkshire are a distributor for Mangoletsi Manifolds.
