Checking to see if any Opel drivers are on this tour, with an Opel or something else in your collection ?
It includes the Tail of the Dragon ( Great Fun ) some track time and more.
Not for my budget but it is part of my fantasy.
.... If this link doesn't work a search will. I'm on their email list.
Ran the Tail of the Dragon in 1974 with a 74 Opel Manta Rallye. I was currently seeing my ex wife in Asheville N.C. and made a day trip out of it. There wasn't much traffic then and it was a blast, going and coming. Now it is crowded bikes, esp. I wouldn't run it anymore. Too many people know about it now, so no fun now. If you want a nice drive, wait untill Fall starts go in the Blue Ridge parkway at Roanoake Va off 220 and drive to Front Royale. You cross onto the Skyline Drive (South entrance) up near Waynesboro, Virginia off Highway 250. Motels near by off I85. Get off Northern Entrance near Front Royal, Virginia, off Route 340 (also called Stonewall Jackson Highway) Skyline Caverns are near by. If you call early enough you can stay https://www.nps.gov/shen/planyourvisit/lodging.htm. at any of these on that page. Skyland is pretty cool. Pricey but cool, expect no tv, high prices for food, but the view is spectacular. Lots off pull offs and Dark Horse Waterfalls is really neat. Also Peaks of Otter is neat. Bus ride to top etc, Lodging etc. Jm2cent worth from many years of driving this route. Jarrell
