Has anyone ever used CRC belt Dressing on interior vinyl? My shift console cover was in very bad shape. The worst areas around the headlight lever and ash tray were almost white. It looked like heavily salt damaged leather or sunfading. I tried most of the Armour-all etc products to no success. Sprayed it down with the CRC and let it sit over night, wiped it down with soapy wet towel, chamois buffed and WOW. It is now a deep black shine and NO waxy or oily feel to it. I know I can't be the first to go this route. Do you think I did some long term damage to the material? It was going to be a throw away piece or at best a back up, But now it looks brand new. So now I've got the can in my hand and I am looking at the rest of my interior pieces.

Any thoughts or comments from the chemists and experienced restorers will gratefully welcomed.

Boy you sure got my attention with that one. I'd like to know about any issues with that too. Sounds like it could be an answer to a lot of 'old parts' appearance.

Max, you may be onto something! I have used belt dressing on my belts in the car and did not have any trouble with them after I used it so I thing it should be OK. I am with you I do not know the long term effect but it did not destroy the belts on the car so I thing you should be OK.
