I need to adjust the valves`on my solid lifter head, but don't see a meaurement for a cold engine..I have.012 as a hot clearance, but don't know what to set my valves until i can get a hot measurement... .014 maybe? help!!

It's alive! I set them at.014 and after cranking it for about 10 seconds, it roared to life. the only exhaust on it was the exhaust manifold dumping out around the clutch area, so it was really loud and obnoxious... I'll try setting the valves @ .012 when i get it hot again.

Way to go.
Make a mental note if any of the nuts feel really loose and you can come raid my stock of extras if you think any might self loosen, that way you won't have to re-adjust every couple of months when one starts to back off and you hear the old-timey sewing machine sound.

Solids are fun, your new cam, head and sprint exhaust will be even more fun.
