Came across the attached picture in a 1970 Hot Rod Magazine. It is connected with an article on Pontiac's 427 CID experimental engine which had an alloy block. The valve gear is particularly interesting as it is made up of CIH type components.

The text states: "Unlike other OHC engines, the rockers or cam following arm don't work directly from cam to valve. There is a hydraulic lifter placed in between. ..... The lifter acts on a small, sliding fixture attached to the rocker arm." Shades of Opel!
