There is a white GT for sale on E-Bay with a custom wood dash. Has anyone ever made one of these and if so, how easy or difficult was it? I do custom woodworking but aren't real mechanically inclined on cars. Fortunately, the 71 GT I bought a few months ago is in excellent condition and needs little work. The radio and clock don't work and my motivation for a new dash would be to have a sharp looking dash with a radio that looks like it belongs in the dash.

Hi John, I have been using small battery powered quartz clock movements to replace the guts in the GT clock. ...basically just buy a cheap kitchen clock that hangs on the wall and adapt the movement...I use the opel hands so you can't tell anything was changed. I use a C size battery and haven't changed it in 4 years...I'll bring one to the next club meeting.
