ebay tranny

Does anyone have any thoughts on putting this tranny in a GT?

The 320 shares the same bolt pattern, so the tranny must be interchangeable, right? (FYI, I am kidding)

But seriously, I know that the OGTS 5-speed kit is BMW sourced, and this is such a cheap deal, it is worth investigating.

Any insight is appreciated.

From what I can find the BMW 320I used a Getrag 245/2 or a Getrag 245/1100BJ I dont know if they will fit or not. If it will let me know.

To the best of my knowledge it won't fit. The Getrag has an integral bellhousing. The BMW uses the BMW bolt pattern, the Opel uses the Opel bolt pattern and they are not the same. The internals are interchangable.

Correct, the BMW and Opel Getrags share the same basic internal guts. The cases are totally different. The input shaft spline is different. The output shaft is different...Opel uses a driveshaft, BMW uses a 'donut' or rubber drive flange in lieu of a u-joint. Not gonna fit unless you're a welder and a machinist and have a lot of time on your hands.....

I had to ask, it was so cheap I just had to know. I'll keep saving for the proper conversion kit.

I can weld, but I would not dare call myself a welder. And machining is better left to someone that is not me.
