I have noticed also that people have used Chevy engines but, has anyone ever used a Porsche 944 engine? Is it even possible?

Given enough time and money anything is possible. If I remember right the 944 4cyl is a lot like the audi/vw motor of the time and would probably fit ok. If you are going for a turbo motor it may need more cutting to get in there.

I thought 944's were front engine/ rear transmission for an almost 50/50 split. It might be pretty difficult to accomplish this swap. Besides that you would be putting timing belts on every 30,000 miles and waterpumps almost as often. I would look into a different engine swap.

What are you looking to get out of the swap HP/TORQUE wise?
How much are you willing to spend? Don't forget with added HP/TQ you have to beef up suspension , brakes and everything else.
