 I received two email from a sender identifying themselves as Ebay. The emails were titled "[email protected]" Inside the email it stated the following:

Dear eBay Member,

During our regularly scheduled account maintenance and verification
procedures, we have detected a slight error in your billing information.

This might be due to either of the following reasons:

1. A recent change in your personal information ( i.e.change of address).
2. Submiting invalid information during the initial sign up process.
3. An inability to accurately verify your selected option of payment due
to an internal error within our processors.

It also provided a link that required your ebay password to be entered inorder to access "secured" site to enter your credit card info, bank account info etc...It all looked real. However, they requested my debit card pin #. I knew there was something wrong then. I contacted Ebay and they requested that I forward it to them. And it turned out to be a hoax. There are some bad people out there. Beware.

Never!

There is a similar Spoof with Paypal in the message - dont ever reply to these as the sender just wants your details - to steal your identity!
Neither eBay nor Paypal EVER ask for your password in an eMail and you should NEVER log on to any of these spoof sites. Just use eBay's and Paypal's secure log on facitities within their actual sites.
Forward any spoofs like these to: spoof "at" ebay.com or spoof "at" paypal.com as they do their utmost to track down the perpetrators and shut down their websites.

2 days ago I recieved a very similar message from "ebay" stating my account was about to be cancelled due to incorrect information, please click on link and blah blah blah. These are all "pshing scams" trying to get our credit card numbers or personal codes to sign on so they can abuse the hell out of them. Delete any and all of these at once. Ebay will not ask for personal info is such crude manners. Better to be safe than sorry.
