Fellow Opelers!

I am extremely happy, since last Friday I defended my thesis and got my PhD. You can't imagine how relieved I feel that 5 years of hard work and studying finally paid off. So, the plan now is to find a good job and get involved with my Opel! :D (Well, not exactly, since I have to serve the Greek military for 9 months starting in November, 11th)

Anyway, I wanted to share my happiness with one of the best internet communities!

Nice one GTJIM. :)) Unfortunately, it's just an obligation which has been postponed for 10 years now (5 yrs Bsc and Master+5 yrs the PhD) due to my studies, but since I have graduated I have no more excuses. :(

@Yoda: I am an Electrical and Computer Engineer and the subject of the PhD was (very generally speaking) Neural Networks and Fuzzy Logic. (Hmmm, thinking about it I should design a fuzzy controller for optimal mileage for our Opels!!! :D )

Weatherman, if you would take the advice from this old retared USAF guy. I went to college after I retired from the USAF and got my A & P license along with a BA in Aircraft Maintenance Technology, so I was a bit seasoned, age wise. I found out, if you want to get ahead in this world, you gotta apply yourself. College can be fun or it can be a PIA, it all depends on the person involved. My advice, get all you can out of it and do the very best you can. It's only a short span of time in your life with much more and better things to come, but it's all up to you.

Congrats Thanos! I keep telling my friends that really really smart people own Opel GT's. You are one more in a long line of very wise and educated "proofs" of my theory. Perhaps I should do a thesis on said theory? NOw if I do the math, aren't you a little old (pardon me) to be going into the Army?
Weatherman--you fish????? when not working? So do I.
Fuzzy Logic--Fuzzy Math--wasn't that to do with George Bush the First?

I love to fish Jo Anna. Cant do much down here while in school, 3 rivers and I dont where to fish at any of them. And I dont think that they would like me too much if I brought fish into the dorm and ate it. I also love to hunt, but I have no place to clean anything. oh well I will catch up all the missed time when I go home.:D

Thank you all for your kind words.

@Jo Anna: Maybe you should alter your theory a bit because I have an Ascona and not a GT. Just a minor change i believe :D . As for the army, yes I will be a grandpa there. I am near 29 yrs old (in a few months) but this is the law. I could have stayed out of the army for studies and I did. I believe it would be harder if I served when I was 18 than now.

@weatherman: Just as Namba said. It's up to you to get the better out of it. And truly, the older you are the harder it gets. So, I got fed up with it about 8 months ago (it was a combination of things: no money and some other stuff) but after some calm thinking I decided it was the diploma or 5 yrs of my life lost. So I chose to work hard for a little while and... here I am. And from talks with other PhD student's here we all have sometimes our "down" times where you want to drop everything and be free. It happens. The thing is to be concentrated on what you want and think that after it you will be better than now.
